OK all you experts. We are toying with the idea of sending a package filled with breakfast items/snacks down to WL prior to our arrival. I know that I have read about alot of people doing this. How exactly do you do this? Send it by UPS....US Mail???
Does the stuff arrive in decent shape? And does the resort not mind holding the package (I know not to have it arrive more than a day or two before our arrival.) If someone could give me a little info I'd appreciate it. Also, is this easier that using the grocery store stop with the town car service?

I'm one of those that have done this several times with much success in the past.

I have simply ordered stuff from NetGrocer.com and had it shipped to the resort. We did this with the WL and YC. NetGrocer ships UPS Ground.

I got the addresses for the resorts from right here on the DIS on the Main Boards Resort info.

In all cases where I shipped stuff down ahead of time, the resorts had no problem holding the packages. I made sure that when I placed the order with NetGrocer, that they delivered only a couple of days before our arrival. The boxes arrived perfectly intact.

When we checked in, I made an inquiry as to the arrival of my packages and they were sent up with the bellman.

Worked out great !!

Hi just wanted to let you know I did this last Oct. 2003 and it worked out great. Sent down a big box for my son (used one of those boxes copy paper comes in-very sturdy) and sent it first class from the local post office. It was shipped for arrival the day before we got there. I have to say it was a lifesaver for my son who is the world pickiest eater. We plan to do this again next year.

Yes I have done this before. I did it last year for our 10 day pre-Chrismas trip at the Poly. I mailed out our package of diapers, swimvest, all of our snacks and juice for the granddaughter on Tuesday for our Saturday arrival. I mailed 3-4 day delivery from the post office. On Saturday it was there. There was no problem. I will do it again this year (but without diapers thank goodness) but with more snacks. You should be fine. Don't worry! :D

We usually just pack a whole suitcase full of cereals, snacks, etc. then at the end of out trip we have an entire extra suitcase that we just fill up with all of the soveneirs that we purchased

We always send a box ahead of time (UPS) w/wipes, toys, snacks, water fans, tubes, sunscreen, etc. It is easier than lugging that stuff in the suitcases! I always send it UPS and check the status online to make sure it was received before we get there- then when we check in the package is waiting for us at the resort!

The resorts have limited space for storage and I imagine with the popularity of these boards many people are sending stuff ahead now.
A couple of people on these boards have posted that they were charged a fee by the resort for picking up packages/deliveries.
