Sending Postcards to Kids - Pay it Forward

I just want to make it clear that I did not originate the idea. kpgclark posted the original cruise board thread. That thread got a bit out of hand, so we decided to close it and start a new one. I just modified it (with her blessing) and set up guidelines to try to make it easier for everyone involved. I think she originally got the idea from another board.

Anyway, I want to make sure I gave credit where it's due!

I was just thinking last night about this and then remember that I had a couple that had to be sent out of the country. I went onto www.USPS.com and found out if you are sending a postcard to Canada it is $.50 and I am also sending a couple to Denmark and found out the price.

So if you have any going outside the country make sure you put the right amount of postage on the cards so the kids get them.

Just to update... Our kids (DD7 and DS5) received their postcards last Friday (11/12) after the cards has been mailed on 11/6. DS got one personalized and signed by Snow White. He thought that was just the coolest thing ever. He has shown it to everyone he came in contact with since -grandparents, neighbors, everybody at church Sunday, etc. The card is getting a bit dirty and raggedy, but it is for now DS' prize possession. He can't wait to get down to WDW and see Snow White and all the others. DD got one from Minnie Mouse. She really felt special about hers too.

This makes me so happy to hear. Such a small thing to do, to bring such happiness to someone. Thank you for lett ing us know that they recived their special cards and thank you MomofKatie,for doing it for them. There is a special place for special people.

I would love my children to receive a card before they depart to WDW on 12/17. I will be happy to send some out to anyone while we are there! This is a great idea!

I'm wondering if anyone has ever seen a postcard with Max (Goofy's son) on it? DD5 is so in love with Max that it's sickening!! I would love to surprise her with "mail" from Max, she would FLIP!!!
