Hey so Im going to disney in 5 days! and as a surprise for my preschool class I thought Id send them a postcard. I want them to get it before I actually get back to work, or that wouldn't be any fun. We get there on the 10th and I go back to work that next monday. So theoretically it needs to be there before friday. Does disney have like express mail??

There isn't an actual US Post Office on WDW property. You'll have to go off-site to find one.

Disney does have "like express mail." :) They'll UPS things for you. FedEx might be an option, I don't remember. The stuff I've UPSed has arrived quick like a bunny. Anything I've given the desk clerks to mail has been a toss up - some arrives in a timely manner, some not. It took over two weeks for a postcard to show up once (thanks you, Wilderness Lodge.;) )

Disney charges for UPSing. Not just the fee that UPS would charge, but extra money for their time and trouble. But they do it often enough to have a form for you to fill out and everything. They'll be ready to help you when you ask. :)

I would think that if you did it the day you arrived and mailed it from a USPS box that it would get there fast enough. But don't sue me if I'm wrong. :cool2:

Can you put the postcard in an envelope and mail it the first or second day? I would think that may work. Regular mail is a lot faster than postcards.

Don't drop your postcards in the mail slots at the resorts. They aren't great about sending it out right away. I often beat my postcards home when mailing from Disney property. You'd do better to find a mailbox off property. There should be a mailbox at The Crossroads. There use to be a US Post Office up the road from The Crossroads, but it moved.

Good luck - my postcards tend to get to where I send them about a week after I get home - I don't think postcards are 1st class mail so they take longer.

Last year I did what a previous poster said--I put the postcard in an envelop and mailed it. I was at Disney for 12 days and all but one of the "letters" made it home before I did. I mailed early in my trip (first or second day), but that was the first time the postcards got home before I did!

I agree with putting the post cards in an envelope and putting a first class stamp on it as your best chance of them arriving at their destination in a timely fashion. When we go camping up in the mountains of Montana we are usually gone for 2 weeks and I send my post cards the first day we get there. They have NEVER arrived until after we get home. It's no big deal for us, but if you really want them to get there in a few days, the envelope idea is the way to go. Plus, you could have them addressed and stamped before you leave - one less thing to do while you are on vacation - just write out the post card and pop it in the envelope.
