When sending international mail, you only use stamps from the country from which the mail is being sent. The various postal services around the world worked this out a long time ago.

From Mexico -- from http://www.fodors.com/miniguides/mgresults.cfm?destination=mexico_city@101&cur_section=tra&pg=3
It costs 8.50 pesos (about 90¢) to send a postcard or letter weighing under 20 grams to the United States or Canada; it's 10.50 ($1) to Europe and 11.50 ($1.20) to Australia.

From Cayman Islands -- http://www.caymanislands.co.uk/services/postal_rates.asp
In CI currency, the current postal rates are: Postcards: to the US: 20 cents; to the UK/ Europe, 25 cents. Letters: (per half ounce) to the US: 30 cents; to the UK/Europe, 40 cents. Greeting cards: to the US, 60 cents; to the UK/ Europe, 80 cents.

20 Cayman Islands cents = approx. 25 U.S. cents.

If you want to use U.S. stamps, send all your postcards from Key West.

Thanks Horase...........only problem is this sailing misses Key West.......2 days at CC:bounce: :bounce: Maybe we'll use CC post office for the first time and GC..........Thanks again!!

The Mexican post office in Cozumel is just a short walk from the dock ... when the Wonder was there in Sept (thanks to Hurricane Frances) I walked over, bought some stamps and mailed a bunch of postcards ... that day's Navigator included a map and a list of "approved" shops.

I'm sure you're aware -- but perhaps somebody else who is reading this thread isn't -- that postcards from Castaway Cay require Bahamas stamps. The good news is that they have a really cool stamp with a Disney ship on it, and that there's a little post office right by where the ship docks. But the stamps are expensive and can only be purchased with cash. Also, the mail can take weeks to reach its destination.
