Our good friends are leaving tomorrow for the BC with their two girls.:cool1: We were thinking of sending a bottle of wine or a special gift to their room. How do we do this? Any ideas? It would be a great surprise.;) I know my Dis friends will have the best ideas!

I am curious? if you don't get your room # until you check in, how can they deliver it to be there when the guests arrive?

In August we had a bag of goodies delivered to my DD and nephew, both 2. I forgot who we called there at Disney, but they were able to deliver it to our room without incident. You have to tell them which resort you will be staying at (obviously) and provide the name the reservation is under. Once you check-in and you have a room assigned to you, the gift will be delivered to the person listed on the delivery instructions.

While baskets can be delivered to your room, if there is a bottle of alcohol the basket will have to be picked up at the front desk and you will need to bring ID. This happened to us at the BC. And yes as a 40+ mom they did check my ID. Also, double check that your party received your gift. My DM sent us a Hanukkah basket last Dec. and kept wondering why we hadn't called to thank her, so she called us and asked if we received any suprises in our room. No????? She then called Disney florist again and they had the delivery date for Feb. 15th. I know most people don't know the exact date of Hanukkah as it is a floating holiday but, I think most people do know that it falls somewhere around Christmas. Our basket was then delivered the next day:cheer2:and it was beautiful.

We had a delivery last year when we were at The Contemporary Resort. When we checked in, the cast member said "oh - you have a package waiting for you - just get to your room and then call bell services and they'll bring it to you."

It was from a friend of ours who knew we were going - full of water, drinks for the girls, swim masks and sunscreen, goodies and a birthday present for me!!!

All they did was mail it to the Contemporary with my name in the first line and referencing checking in on that first day we were there. I think if you mail it with planned delivery around the time of their check in date, you'll be just fine. It was a pleasant surprise and I'm sure my girls are going to be looking for another package this year - I'm guessing I need to be putting that box together on my own since I wouldn't expect it from my friend again!:goodvibes

If they are staying in a resort with room service, you can also arrange a bottle of wine or food item through them. Just call the main resort number and ask them to transfer you to private dining. It may be less expensive than the Disney Florist.

Thanks for all the ideas. Wish I had thought of this earlier. When our friends heard we were going in August they ramped up their planning and booked a trip for now. Next time we may all go together.

Our travel agent sends a gift to all of her clients during their vacation, no room number is needed, only the resort and person's name (reservation number is helpful too), also on here there are directions for mailing packages to the resort. I can't find the post at the moment, sorry.
