Ok I decided that I'm just going to send a package ahead of time to my resort (CBR) instead of trying to go around and get stuff when I get there! So I have a few questions on how to do that!

1. What company should I use to ship it (UPS, USPS, FED-EX)?
2. I arrive on Jan 19 when should I ship it?
3. Does anyone have the direct address to CBR or can they tell me if this one is correct?
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
900 Cayman Way
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32 830
4. Is this how I should address the outside of the package?
Reosort Name/Address
Guest Name
Hold for Arrival on __________

Thanks :)

I have done this many times with mixed results.

Please do use UPS or similar shipping company, since they will label it correctly and you will have a tracking number.

Ensure that your Disney reservations number and ARRIVAL DATE appear on the label and/or box. The shipping company will probably ask for the hotel phone number as well.

As their reservations do not come over to the front desk until a few days prior, I have had them reject shipments in past.

Finally, you may just want to call the hotel in advance and alert them - this should not be necessary but it wouldn't hurt.

If you do all of that, you shouldn't be stranded without your box (read 'in business clothes with no play clothes' like I was! - I shipped play clothes since I was doing a last minute trip after a business trip)

bavaria,
Thanks for the reply! I played around on UPS website and I think I will send it ground shipping tomorrow according to UPS it should be there by the end of the day on the 19th. I hope it works well I'm just sending some snacks, water, some kleenex, and a beach towel so if it gets lost or doesn't make it I should be ok. I think I will call CBR on monday and let them know about the package.

Just wanted to add that I have done this a couple of times. Your package will likely get there...it's finding it that is sometimes an issue. This has happened at more than one WDW resort and at the Dolphin. Just be persistant and make sure someone looks for your package.

Just be persistant and remember when deciding how to ship your package that occassionally it takes the "disney system" a day or two extra to get things where they need to be.

Good Luck! I'm sure it will be fine! :flower1:

I sent a box to Port Orleans Riverside and it was waiting for us at check-in. Very handy to do!

I would suggest writing your confirmation number on the box, too.

Have fun!

I always go with UPS now.

My last issue was actually a return of an item and it spent two months on a trip around North America. (Hey, at least my dirty clothes got to go on vacation!)

As the last poster said, it is often the 'finding' that is the issue.

And don't forget to ask someone to open the box when you pick it up - or you may go all the way back to your room and realize that you can't open it since you have no scissors or sharp objects!

Thanks for all of the added tips :) I wil make sure to report back on how it all worked!

I've heard of guests decorating their boxes, so they'll be easy to find. I'd put Disney stickers or something all over it. That should make it stand out in the sea of brown cardboard.

Love that idea - particularly if I was sending it to a convention hotel like CR.

Scoutsmom99, have a great trip and make sure that you lie in a hammock one night and watch Illuminations for me!!!
