Tomorrow we are going to our State-Regional Qualifiers in NJ. I am so excited, nervous and scared for them. We are number 24 to go on out of 70 something squads. We aren't competing against that many, because they do it by age groups.

I told them all to go out there and win and make me come home from my Disney vacation early. If they go on, the Regional Competition is on the day we were supposed to leave to come home from Disney. I really want them to make me come home early. This is such an exciting chance for them, and I am so excited.

Wish us lots of luck, and send tons of prayers and pixie dust our way!

Thanks,
Melanie

PS.........I have no idea what we are doing as far as food goes for lunch or dinner. I hope I can keep it within my points!!! Wish me luck in that area, since I have no control over it.

Hi all,

Since there were so many large Peewee squads they took 4 squads in this level. We tied for 3rd place and we are going to the Regional competition on 11/22!!! What a day, I was so exhausted last night. I got up at 5:30, and I didn't get home until 9:30 last night.

It was so exciting, and the afternoon was so long waiting for the awards ceremony.

Thanks for everyone's prayers, thoughts and pixie dust! They definately helped us! Thanks so much!

Melanie

oh yeah,

And on the eating front......

I had 1/2 of a Kashi bar for breakfast 2.5 points

a 16oz French vanilla coffee from Wawa (I figured it would probably be about 5 or 6 points.) but then the points weren't listed on dotti's weight loss zone, and I found something similiar at 7-11. It turned out to be 11.5 points. I didn't figure this out till I got home last night. YUCK!

I got a pizza and water for lunch at the competititon. It was one of those round small pizzas and I counted it as two slices 14 points

I had a soy crips(2 points) and a 1/2 of a Kashi Bar (2.5 points) on the bus home.

Then I had a slice of dark german whole wheat bread and a tablespoon of peanut butter at home (3.5 points for both)

Total for the day was 36 points - YIKES, but I had flex points left and I still have 8.5 flex points left and today is the last day of my week.

So I made it through it. I didn't eat a lot of actual food, but it kept me filled and was on program!

Congratulations to your squad, Melanie! How exciting to get to go to regionals!!! :wizard: Here's some advance PD for regionals, too!!! :D

Sounds like you did great staying OP!! It's not always easy in situations like that! Like you said, there's not a lot of "real" food around!

Thanks! They so deserved it, they have worked so hard. Unfortunately, the next level is so hard. There are some NJ teams, that are so unbelievely good, that you would swear you were watching college level on ESPN. Those teams win the regionals every year and move on to the National competitions in Disney World. It would be a miracle if they won, and they usually only take 2 squads at the regional level. They did start something new a year or two ago, where they have a invitational cheer off at WDW at the same time. We would have a chance (I hope) to win that. So who knows. A Bux-Mont sqaud last year went to florida for the cheer off. So maybe, you never know!

Whatever happens on the 22nd, we are so proud of them!

Thanks!
Melanie
