Send Pixie Dust for Son, Please (**Updated**9/25/05)

Just got off the telephone with DS and DIL who live on the Louisiana coast almost on the Texas Line. They are packing up and I will probably leave later to help them evacuate. They will need a trailer to pack their things and DS has had back surgery 2 times. They teach school so maybe some of their high school kids can help load the stuff. Looks like I'm going to the beach...(sarcasm). Say a prayer; Never have pulled a trailer before...



Update! Older DS is going..hehe he didn't think I could pull the trailer. So, please say a prayer for both my boys!

I'm starting to worry for my uncle & his wife in Beaumont. I need to go look at a map - I'm not sure how affected they will be. I remember them living pretty close to Galveston.

Thank ya'll so much! DS called and they have gotten most of their things and are starting to be evacuated. They'll leave in the morning and come to stay with us. Thank you all for the support! I really appriciate it!

Hi everyone! I'm the OP's (original poster's) daughter and I wanted to let ya'll know whats going on. My brother who was evacuated made it here slowly, but safely. We've gotten wind and rain; Though it could have been much worse. My brother's home was destroyed. From what we hear his house is under 20ft of water. Rita made landfall on his small community and not much is left. If you click the link in my siggy, you can see pics of the damage. Just click them to make them bigger.
