Our numbers have dropped fairly significantly since booking a private lunch reception at the California Grill so I am wondering if anyone else can give us suggestions of where we can have a semi-private lunch after our 10:00 ceremony.

I was looking at the Yachtsman Steakhouse but I am not sure if they are open for lunch. If anyone knows, please let me know either way.

We are looking for something for about 12 people and I would like it to be somewhere I can wear my gown. I would prefer not to do any of the character meals as I am looking for something a little more upscale. Any suggestions would be much appreciated at this point.

Also, can something like this be booked through the dining line or do I need to call the restaurant directly?

Thanks.

We ate at Portabello Yacht Club at DTD. It's not fine dining exactly, but has good food and the place is pretty much DESERTED for lunch. We had it to ourselves. I believe you can book through dining, but Lindsey, the Sales Manager, can be reached at 407.828.8996. She can help you decide if you want to have special menus or just use their standard, etc. etc.

Visiting allears.net might help you with menus and such.

Hope that helps! Good luck!

The Kona Cafe at the Polynesian serves lunch and gets rave reviews on the restaurant board. I don't know if they would have a separate room you could use....

From what I understand, the Yachtsman Steakhouse does not open until 5:00pm or around that time. I don't think they are open for lunch. I was thinking Citricos but they have 2 seatings at 6pm and 8:30pm so that wouldn't work either. I think Portobello Yacht Club sounds interesting or maybe another DTD restaurant.

I'm sorry to hear your numbers are dropping. We are having our dinner at CG and I am really worried about meeting our minimum as well. Good luck in finding a new place!

Thanks for your help guys. I think we will stick with the California Grill and it just might ending up costing a little more per person. It will be the same cost overall with the minimums but we will just have fewer people depending on whether my fiances brother and his wife decide to come or not. I was just freaking out because it was less then two months now and they keep coming up with bloody excuses. They have had over a year to decide so either you're coming or you're not. It just sucks because my fiance is upset because his brother doesn't seem to care how much this wedding means to us.
