"Semi-formal" Question for 4 day Wonder

I've seen on these boards that the Wonder doesn't really have an official formal/semi-formal night, but that you dress up a bit for Triton's. But, I've been looking at some of the more recent Navigators from the Wonder and they specify a NIGHT, not a restaurant to be semi-formal. Monday, the evening after the day in Nassau is deemed "dress-up night" according to the Navigator. So, does that mean if on "dress-up night" you're in the Animator's Palate or Parrot Cay you still wear your "dressy" clothes, or do you save them for Triton's???? ARG!!! I'm so confused, can someone enlighten me??

I've done the Wonder twice and I think dress up night is when Mickey and Minnie come out in their "formal wear" for pictures. We only dressed up on Tritons night. But if you want those special pictures with Mickey & Minnie....you can dress the part for the photo. I don't think it was a ship-wide thing! Casual attire was the norm in the other restaurants.

I had this same question earlier on a different thread and it still is not clear to me :confused3 Do I dress according to the navigator recs or based on where I am eating? Would love to hear from some recent Wonder cruisers. I beleive this has been recently added to the first page of the navigators.

Thanks,

That is a very good question. Do we go by the navigator or by resturant rotation. Clarification is greatly appreciated. :confused3 :confused3

We leave in 3 wks! pirate: pirate:

I'm not sure how recently it was in the Navigator about "dress-up night", but we cruised back in January and there wasn't anything about it in any of our Navigators. At least if it did, we missed it and didn't notice.
We just went with dressing casual for all the restaurants except Tritons and we dressed up a little more for it, but as far as being semi-formal, we didn't do anything like that.

We cruised mid-march. Palo's dinner was a suit and tie affair, Tritons was more relaxed -Jacket, no tie or dress shirt, tie and dress pants and of course Animators Palate and Parrot Cay were no shorts, tanks etc but I read that you can now wear Jeans! (still nor shorts or tanks etc.) Palo brunch was definitely what I would call business casual wear-slacks and blouse for women-nice shirt, slacks for men.

Hi,

I will still go with what I have always done on DCL no matter what the Navigator says. I dress up more for Tritans than I would for Animator or Parrot Cay. The atmosphere of Parrot Cay in my opinon certainly doesn't seem to merrit a jacket or button down long sleeve shirt and tie or any kind of formal wear for that matter. I think Jimmy Buffet, easy-brezzy skirts, sundress or Caribbean Joe wear when I dine at Parrot Cay. But, for PALO's I would dress to the nines!
You could always go back to your stateroom and change to get your picture with Mickey in his tuxs and Minnie in here evening gown if you want too or wear whatever you want to dinner. It's your vacation! :rotfl:

MmKeteer....sailing DCL again 2/2/06

I just got back :sad:and the dress code was casual, dressy, pirate, casual.

I called guest services because I thought it went with the restaurant and our dining rotation was A,P,T,T and I felt weird with a bandana on my head at tritons but they said at guest services that it is a boat wide dress code know not a restaurant dress code.

Hope that helps.

Hmmmmmmmmmm....still not sure what to do! The Navigator I say the "dressy night" was one from March, 2005--so it was really recent. I certainly don't want to be the only one dressed up at Parrot Cay, but I also don't want to be the only one NOT dressed up, either! Any recent cruisers have some advice???

On our last 4 night cruise, I wore a Tux to Palo and DW wore a nice evening gown. We made that our "formal" night and nobody said anything. It was actually really nice to dress up. All of the other times, including Tritons, I just wore dockers and a button-down shirt. There were others with jackets/etc on in Tritons but I just keep all of the dress code the same for the restaurants unless we're doing a "formal" night.

Also, it was great getting pics with Mickey & Minnie in their formal wear with us in ours. :goodvibes

I can tell you what I wore.

Capri pants, top, casual sandals- Animators
Skirt, nice top, dressy sandals- Parrot Cay
Dressy Capris, top, wrap over, dressy sandals- Tritons (pirate night)
Capris, top, lightweight poncho, sandals- Tritons

Navigator said- Casual, Dressy, Pirate, Casual

Most cruisers looked about the same with the dressy night the 2nd night... I wore my dressiest outfit on dressy night and second dressiest at Tritons.

I just got back on Thursday 4/7 I think they are trying to get the dress code for all cruisers the same night not related to the restaurant. I agree that Tritons is the "nicest" looking restaurant so I would look nice but most of the men didn't have a jacket or a tie on because dressy night was the second night. Also since it was the last night a lot of people had already packed.

So, pirate night is the 3rd night?
Is that the night we have been at Castawy Cay?
I don't want to reserve Palo's for Pirate night, so
we can enjoy it with the kids!!!

Yes... it is the same day. Don't miss it, it was great.

Crud, I am so confused by all this. When we went in January, I don't remember them having anything in the Navigators about when dressy nights were. I am just a little confused about having dressy night when you might end up in Parrot Cay or Animator's Palate! Arrrgh! :confused3
