I have 4- four day adult tickets I bought last year and I have them linked to my DME. I also have the physical tickets too. If I wanted to sell these, would I be able to and how?

I wouldn't use the word "sell" because only authorized merchants can legally sell Disney tickets. However, unused tickets can be "given" to anyone you wish.

Your problem is that they are linked to your MDE and cannot be unlinked. You can transfer those tickets to any friend or family member that you have in MDE but if the recipient is outside of your MDE circle, they will not be able to add the tickets to their own MDE.

And here's an even bigger problem...if you have multiple tickets in your MDE that you want to keep for yourself and you "give" those unwanted tickets to someone else without them being a part of your friends/family, then Disney might take days off of one of your older tickets instead of the recipient's ticket. Just as an example:
  • You have 4 passes in MDE - 2 5-day passes and 2 4-day passes. The 5-day passes are older and are assigned to Guests "A" and "B". The 4-day passes were purchased more recently and were also assigned to "A" and "B".
  • You decide to "give" the 4-day passes to a friend of a friend of a friend. I'll call them "X" and "Y".
  • X and Y go to Disney with their 4-day passes which are still linked to A and B. They use them at the gate for entrance, but because they are linked to your MDE account, the computer looks for the oldest tickets linked to that MDE account and takes 1 day off of the 5-day tickets instead.
  • X and Y don't know that this is a problem and spend a happy 4-day visit at Disney. Months later, JohnDaleswife goes to Disney for a 5-day visit. On Day #5, she can't get into the parks? Why? Because X and Y used the 5-day tickets and the 5th day expired. JohnDalesWife and friend have been using the 4-day tickets.

So, without getting even more long-winded with my explanation, you cannot just sell those tickets to a stranger once you've added them to MDE.

This is what I was thinking. Just one set of the 4 day tickets. But since I linked them I would have to sell them to someone I knew or someone I could put into my DME. Oh well.

I thought we could NEVER sell/"transfer" Disney tickets?
I sent an e-mail to the Disney Guest Relations last week since I have many tickets and needed to find out what was on each card.
I have four 10 day non expiring cards that have 7-8 "Plusses" on each card (actually I have many more but using that as an example).
I have not linked them to MDE. Are you all saying I can somehow sell the cards with the Plusses? I would LOVE to do this since
I have SOOO many.
Thank you.

Technically, the answer is NO. You cannot sell them. If they have not been used, you can gift them to someone. Once they have been used, they belong to the person who used them and cannot be gifted or transferred to anyone else.

You can, but you made the process more difficult because you linked them to your MDE.

If the tickets weren't linked, how would it be less difficult to give to someone else and where would I find the audience to do so?

If the tickets aren't linked to MDE, are there websites that people use to get rid of unused days?

Thanks.

Let me point out again that if ANY PORTION of a ticket has been used by someone, you cannot transfer it to anyone else. That means that if you used just a single park day from those tickets, they belong to the original user and cannot be transferred to anyone else. Gifting a 10-day pass with some "unused" days cannot be done. It has already been tied to the original user's fingerscan.

Thank you very much.
I appreciate all your help although the finger scan thing really doesn't worry me. I had a CM at AK tell me they really don't fully check
if not working and there has been many, many, many times that my family of 4, my mom or my sister's family all had problems getting in with the scan and
they had to "reset". But I do appreciate your letting me know about the tickets. I'll have them for whenever we need them and that is still a great thing!

Wouldn't she be able to transfer them to X and Y if they were part of her DME?

Yes. And it would work. I just transferred a couple of passes to my daughter and her boyfriend by doing just that. But would you invite a stranger to share your MDE? And conversely, would you accept a stranger's invitation to add you to theirs?

Can you "unfriend" people in you DME? I might consider it if I could "friend" them long enough to transfer the passes and then "unfriend" them so they don't have access to my DME.

I'm not sure whether we should be discussing ways to work around Disney's rules, so I'll just leave it with a "probably".

I have tried to unfriend my mil and sil. They have only gone once and probably not going ever with me again and I would just like to not have them on any longer to "clean it up".

Maybe if I call I can get them off, they have the same last name as I do, but Im interested in this answer.

Can you not unlink unused tickets yourself on MDE? I know guest services can this for you.

Disney can unlink unused tickets from your MDE account at the parks. But, the new rule is that if they unlink a ticket for you, they must immediately link it to someone else - they are not allowed to give you an unlinked ticket back. Found that out last weekend from 2 separate CM's.

Wow. Thanks for the info. I did not know this. We always get our two day tickets removed from MDE when we already have AP's and take advantage of free dining.

We're not going to allow discussion of ways around Disney policy.

Theme Park admission passes are non-transferable once they have been used.
