Selling Southwest credits?

We unfortunately are looking at having to cancel our trip for august. We have already booked nonrefundable flights with Southwest and I know they will only give you credit for it. We will never use the credit within the one year.

Is there a way to sell or transfer these credits to someone else? I would hate to lose $650 USD of credits totally but I do not even know where to begin to look for someone who would be able to buy the credits off me.

Some people try to sell them on ebay, and sometimes ebay pulls the listing, sometimes they don't. Do you know anyone who might be flying somewhere this summer? Maybe they can give you something for the credits... But yes you can sell them or give them to someone.

Oh no. Sorry to hear that. I have $150 that expires on the 17th of June and have not had luck selling it either. I am extending it to use for our trip in September. Hope you can make it as losing 650 is a lot.

Anyone can use those credits, you just have to give them the confirmation numbers. But be sure to only give them to someone you trust and know that they will give you the money in return. I have bought some from a Disboarder in PA who was about to lose them and she gave me the confirmation numbers and I mailed her a check after I applied them to my flight.

yes, you can transfer or give the credit to anyone, they just need your confirmation # and name on reservation to be able to use it. If you want to sell them, post it on here and i am sure some one will take them

Yes i have bought credit from someone as well. It went well. Seems like I found the add in our local paper but you might could try Craigs list too.

When people sell these credits, what is the going rate/discount? I just priced out our flight and it will be $767 on SW, slightly more than on other airlines but would consider if I could get points for a decent price.

I sold mine on ebay a couple years ago. It went QUICK too not sure how it is doing now though.
