I am looking at selling a lot of my scrapbooking supplies. i have a lot built up, but don't think I've done any scrapping for about six years. I am tired of moving it around with us... the weight all ads up.

Where would you recommend that I sell it? I looked on ebay, and things do sell, but I think that listing most of it would be a really big hassle. With all the small items, pictures, etc.

Should I even attempt craigslist? The last time I put something on there I got mostly spam. I would like to just get rid of it all at once, and still get a profit from it to go towards our trip or for baby items.

Any suggestions would be great. I am working on several projects right now, making blankets for GAD, deep cleaning the kid's rooms, and this is just one of those projects that I need to just get done. I feel so overwhelmed by it, that I just keep putting it off. I have sooo much stuff though and my art room is beginning to be so cluttered with fabric, crafts and scrapping stuff that I don't have any more room.
Thanks so much disers!! I appreciate each and every one of your replies.

Well, if you can hold out, you can try a garage sale, otherwise, I'd put it up as a "LOT" on Craigslist before I tried ebay...personally I think Ebay has turned into more headaches than it is worth...........Good Luck!
I know what you mean, it all does seem to Double, overnight and the piles just keep growing :rotfl2:
Good Luck!

Check with some of your local Scrapbooking stores, we have one in our area that has "scrapbook yard sales" to allow customers to sell extras or unneeded items. I thinks she does this one Saturday every few months.

I'm a consultant for a scrapbooking and stamping company and I did a yard sale last fall. I had over 100 stamp sets and tons of paper (both themed kits and random paper & cardstock). Not to be discouraging, but I didn't really do well with this. I had my paper priced at 5 cents/sheet for 12x12 and the stamp sets were 75% off the retail price. I put it all back in my basement and will try again in the spring.

On the bright side, when I did a stamp/scrapbooking yard sale about 3 years ago, I got rid of lots of things and make a pretty decent amount.

Good luck to you. I know how overwhelming it can be to have that many supplies that you have paid for and now want to get rid of.

You could sell filled flat rate boxes full of stuff on eBay. That might work. But, I'm kind of anti-ebay these days, so I might go with Craigslist or a craft fair. Or maybe etsy?

ETA, or you could ask on the scrapbooking board here on the DIS. Or get this post moved over there.

I have done pretty well selling it in lots on ebay.

I agree...themed lots seem to do well, plus be sure and list some of the brand names in the listing so people looking for those will see you.

I'll be watching this thread for ideas as well. I have tons of rubber stamp sets I really want to get rid of (new and barely even used), but really do NOT want to do ebay..craigslist just sort of scares me. We do plan on having a garage sale this spring, but doubtful that type of stuff would sell. Are there any other craft or stamping/scrapping sites that let you list your items?

If you don't want to do Ebay - and seriously I have sold rubber stamps for more than I have bought them for on Ebay - then I think your best bet is to find someone who is into the hobby and sell to them locally.

Scrapbooking and Rubber stamping items sell for far less at garage sales than they do if you find a specific person looking for the item. I bought a Diet Coke rubber stamp for myself for 5.00, never used it and sold it for over 10 on Ebay. I have sold themed lots of Disney scrapbook supplies and papers, lots of punches, and specific single items.

Twopeasinabucket.com has a selling board-

I'd fill a flat rate box with "like items" photograph them and sell it by the box.

-em < who has a hard time saying no to scrap stuff

I haven't scrapped in a while either.....but have TONS of stuff, stamps, paper, embellishments, scrap group/swap stuff......it just keeps multiplying. I'm going to set a goal to get my photo boxes cleaned out this summer though....and scrap it all! Then I have about 10 more photo cds to print!!! YIKES Oh well, one of the 'perks' of having 5 kids I suppose LOL Too many pictures and not enough time to spend scrapping them.

I have scrapping items that I've been trying to clear out as well. I was able to sell a couple of things on ebay. I didn't have any luck at all on Craigslist.

Not to discourage decluttering, but I would suggest holding onto some of it like adhesives, photo corners, special pens, and other non-theme items because mine have really come in handy for projects with the kids. Just this month I pulled out my paper trimmer and adhesives to help the kids with their science fair displays. And most of my scrapping stuff is Army or military themed so my DD was able to use some of it for a Veteran's Day project she had to do.

But some things like embellishments, page protectors and some paper are in a box in my garage until I finally find something to do with them.

I closed a scrapbook store and sold a ton of "lots" on ebay.
I have also done garage sales. I think ebay is more of a hassle, but more profitable.
The key to a garage sale is ADVERTISE--put scrapbook supplies first in your ad. I also put papers/stickers into themed kids..."$20 value only $4.99" so the paper didn't get roughed up by being pawed through.

I have a cricket express and an considering selling, I dont have the time to invest in it.... it is an expensive habit!

any one have any cuddlebug stuff to sell. pm me.

I would use ETSY.com
The fees are next to nothing and it is made for people that craft. I had a lot of sucess when selling crafts items off.
