Just wondering how many of you that have sold your DVC contracts have gone through the TS store and how your experience was also how long did it take to sell?

Unfortunately I think your answers are going to be very broad. Like anything being sold it's all about price. If your product is priced lower then the competition it will sell quick, if it is on par, it will be the luck of the draw, if it's more it could take a long time. With DVC interests you also have another variable to consider and that is volume. In comparison a small contract will sell much quicker then a large contract if the prices are the same.

I sold one small contract via them. Timing was fairly quick, commnunication was lousy. THey just 'emailed' me the contract assuming I would accept the buyer's offer (I didn't, so then they had to do something)

My other contracts, via a different broker, had phone calls to say "here's the offer, do you want it?" and that happened even on one where it sold at list etc...

We sold with them and it was a great experience. I listed it 4 months before I could close due to reservations.

It was a small contract, 50 points, and I had an offer in 24 hours. The buyer backed out 5 days later so we listed it again. I had my 2nd buyer within another 24 hours.

The process went great. Everything went to Disney and was back in just 3 weeks. Then, we filled out and signed everything and it sat until the day we checked out of the resort. The contract closed the next day and we had the check within a week.

Very professional organization.

We sold two larger contracts (350 BWV and 300 OKW2057) and one smaller contract 50 OKW2057 through TTS in the past year. All were handled quite efficiently. They gave good advice on price when asked as the BWV contract was languishing in a pool of similarly priced contracts. They felt I should hold the price, but I decided dropping it $2/point would make it move and move it did. The first buyer on the 50 pt contract cancelled five days after offering and they were prompt to notify me and had it re-sold the next day. Magic Title handled all the closings and all happened with ten business days of our returning the signed paperwork.

It took almost two months from listing to receiving the proceeds on the BWV sale (12/2009 to 2/2010). The OKW sales took less than a month - both sold within a few days of listing and closed within two weeks of selling. In all cases I was priced at or slightly below the midpoint of the contracts on the market on TTS and other similar sites.

I had the BWV contract on another broker as they are non-exclusive. That other broker is highly thought of on here and they are extremely nice, but as a seller I found they only brought bottom feeder offers. TTS never did that and I think that shows professionalism that the other broker lacked (quick sale gets them the commission, even if the price causes ROFR - only the seller ultimately loses).

everything was great it took about 3 months

If you haven't already please feel free to email The Timeshare Store, Inc.® at sales@dvcstore.com and we will be happy to send you any information regarding selling your points.

We sold 165 pts via TS and it was very easy. They were sold in about two weeks.

I was just wondering why you decided to sell your contract with Disney and how long was left on the time share contract?

Well we really hate selling and it really is breaking my heart that we have to do so but due to some personal unexpected financial reasons it really is our only option. We did just put our AKV points under contract this week after only have been listed for 3 days. I only hope our BCV moves quickly too. Our BCV contract I believe is till 2057

I just sold three small contracts with TTS, it has been so easy!! they were very small, all 40 and under points. I set my price, told them no negotiation, (high of course) and within hours of their emails going out, two had buyers, and by the next day a third buy stepped up!! I received telephone calls each time that there was an offer, once I accepted, (I received the asking price on two, one low baller and I declined, then got another offer for full asking) Then I received the contracts via email, we signed and faxed back, received the escrow documents, signed and faxed back, all three contracts were sent to Disney for ROFR and we are waiting. Everything was spelled out very clearly, each contract handled seperately, so no confusion, I can't understand anyone having problems with how they handle sales.
