Hi, I need your feedback on the pros/cons of the following situation:

I have the need for some cash in the next couple months. So the option I am considering is to sell 150 of my points (keeping 50...separate contract). This will give me the cash I need. We still plan to go to Disney every year, so I would turn around and rent back 150 points each year for the next couple years (after which we will probably buy back 150 pts). I am well aware that in the long run the cost is more to rent than buy, but do need the cash (good opportunity). What are the other pitfalls I am missing in my thinking? BTW, I would be looking to rent 150 pts as transfer points so I can control the ressies.

I appreciate everyone's feedback. I want to make sure that I didn't miss a "gotcha" before I execute.

Don't forget about the realtor's commission. It runs 10%.

Don't forget that the fees from the reseller will take a big chunk of the sales price. We looked at selling one of our contracts (150 points) a couple of years ago to finance buying a larger contract at the then new AKV. We figured by the time we paid the commission and all the other fees, it wasn't worth it financially. Our final decision was to keep the contract and purchase a smaller contract at AKV. So far it has been a good decision, because we have been able to stay at AKV with the OKW points we decided to keep.

I appreciate that you have a cash flow issue now, but your plan might actually be cutting off your nose to spite your face.
