This is not even remotely close to being true. I'm not sure if you're part of Scouting, or if you're just referring to some wives-tale you heard.

The minimum amount any troop gets, in troop profit, across the country is .40 cents and they sell for $3.50.

If you're going to chastise someone for posting incorrect info, you may want to fact-check yourself.

Yes. I have stated so before. Additionally, Tom Hanks grew up in the East Bay, professed that he wanted (but didn't have the grades) to attend UC Berkeley, and even said that he would liked to have won a Heisman Trophy as Cal halfback.
