I’ve considered selling some gift cards on Raise or CardCash but I never try it because I’m scared it will be bought, the buyer will use it and claim it was empty and then CardCash/Raise will come back to me accusing my of fraud and demanding the payment back. Is this is a realistic fear? Any experience in this area?

I have only sold one card, probably 4-5 months ago, I have not yet had any backlash from it. I sold it on Raise.

i keep a record of the card in case i need to dispute it with the credit card company. Ive only sold to cardpool though. I believe they have a system that checks it when u input them. I recall reading something about amazon shutting this down so it could be YMMV.

I just sold 4 gift cards on Raise in the last month. I write the Raise item number on the physical card & the date it sold, keeping it with the purchase receipt of the card. Raise says to keep the card handy for 180 days and then you can get rid of it (maybe I'll hold onto them for a year since that's the guarantee Raise gives to purchasers). I don't foresee selling cards very often, just when the right opportunity presents itself.

I looked into Cardpool, but I feel more comfortable with Raise as a company, after reading reviews of them and other gift card selling companies.

I haven't cashed out my sales because I'm waiting to see if my other deposits into the Chase checking account I opened for the bonus will count as direct deposits. Apparently Raise can do a direct deposit, but they require your SSN to do so and I'm not wild about that.

I just sold (2) of my BB gift cards from SB to Cardpool and I was a little concerned about the same thing. I gave them the card numbers and they are sending me a check for the funds. In the mean time, they also have my credit card number so if the funds go missing (or if they CLAIM the funds go missing), they can simply charge my card for the money. I don't know what recourse I would have with the credit card company to prove that I did not use the cards. Seems like the set up is perfect for the company (Cardpool) to take my money...but if they did this regularly, I would think they'd be out of business. Even with the fact that they guarantee to the buyer that the cards will retain their balance, I don't know how that could protect the seller. I mean, couldn't the buyer drain the card and accuse the seller of doing it? I feel like I will be checking my credit card more frequently for the next several months, just to make sure no charges pop up from Cardpool. I guess it's pointless, though, because again, how could I prove that I am not the one that drained the gift card???
