If this type of thread isn't allowed, please let me know and I'm sorry!

So my family and I bought our Disney World tickets already and now they have released this military deal, which would save us all several hundred dollars! Is there a website anyone knows of that I can sell our tickets on LEGALLY? I know there is Ebay, but I would really rather not open an account there.. because I know that I will use it in other ways as well :rolleyes1 lol If Ebay is the only option, anyone had any success buying or selling from there?

Thanks yall!

I don't think selling the tickets on ebay is allowed. Your auction would probably get pulled. Also, even if your auction didn't get pulled, if you were brand new ebay account holder with zero feedback, it's unlikely that someone would buy your tickets for fear you were some dishonest person just opening an account to sell some fake tickets.

You could try Craig's List instead. You're listing would not get pulled there. Watch out for scammers though. Don't accept checks or wired money. Take in person cash only.

I have no advice on selling the tickets but had another thought if you plan on future trips. Unused tickets do not expire so I would save the purchased tickets for another trip and take advantage of the military deal this time around myself. I know it is just spending money on top of money but it is an option to consider.

I totally agree with the others not to try ebay for several reasons. First, their fees and second to open an account and have zero feedback, you may not get many takers.

Several places I have worked have "classified" sections on our work place intranets. If you live on base, is there one or you may even mention it to some friends and pass the word.

Good Luck!:thumbsup2

My DH bought me a 5 day Military Salute ticket, I used it to renew my annual pass. The ticket booth CM just applied the $$ to my AP.

I thought about this.. but my husband and I are about to go overseas in June for 4-5 years, and so we would just have these tickets sitting there..collecting dust or possibly even getting lost.. lol

I'm sure if you went to Guest Relations at the parks, they would be able to exchange the tickets for the military tickets. I mean, you can apply your ticket to an upgrade, couldn't they do it the other way around??

Your best bet is trying to find some one that you know that's about to take a trip to disney in the next couple of years and asking them. Are they the actual tickets?? Like your name is tagged to them?? then you might not be able to even transfer them to another person. If it's just the voucher card, like you get at the Disney store, that you still have to transfer to a normal ticket at the gates, then yeah you can give those to some one else.

Do you have a parent or sibling that owns a home and maybe has a safe that they could keep the tickets in for you?? Just think of the rising ticket costs, like 5$ or so every year... think of the savings if you use them 5 or more years down the road.

you cannot "downgrade" tickets. You could only use them to go towards a more expensive ticket.

Where did you get the tickets? Was it through a 3rd party place like Undercover Tourist, or was it through Disney? If I were you, I'd call up and ask a cast member about your options. You may get to trade them in if you upgrade the military tickets for more days, more perks, etc.

Wow, the Air Force has to do 4 to 5 years in Korea with dependents?? That would really stink to be there for that long. Nothing against Korea but it was just not for me.

I guess my best advice is to use the tickets you have and get the military discount on the room only.

Or have a relative put the tickets in their safety deposit box here in the states.

My son in law is career AF currently at Ellsworth Rapid City. Yeah, it's a lot of moving around. I wouldn't want to take the tickets overseas with me either.

Good luck,

herc

No, hubby is in Korea for a year, (remote tour, just him) and then we get a follow on..which is Italy for 4-5 years (so long becasue we are both military).

I just got back from visiting him in Korea, and it really wasnt that bad. Of course there is the cultural change, but that's anywhere! I wouldn't mind being there that long, as long as I am with him! This past 7 months has STUNK! ;)

This happened to us last year when planning our Disneyland trip. We had already purchased tickets when the military discount tickets were released. I call Guest services and they were extremely nice and we just had to send our tickets back along with a letter and they refunded our money. If you didn't buy your tickets from Disney directly I don't know if it would work.

I know you aren't suppose to sell them on ebay, but people do. Your better off doing them as "buy it now" or "make offer" because by the time they pull the auction, you will have already sold them. Good Luck!

If you happened to buy them at Undercovertourist they have a refund policy if they are still sealed in the plastic. I think there is a small fee, so you'd have to weigh the difference.
