I was wondering if I am one of only a few who are selling contracts to free up money at this time. The decrease in values of listed DVC contracts has been quite significant.

The attached poll asks that question and gets at the reasons.

You're not alone. I'm selling two 60 point SSR contracts to free up money for an add-on at the GC. One sold in 2 days. Haven't heard anything on the other.

The number of contract on TSS listing has increase alot since we listed in early June.

I sold two. Had a buyer back out of a third (got half the deposit they left - split between us and the resales agent). I have two that we intend to keep at this time. Still have the one out there for sale.

DVC fees are going up too much. We don't go to Disney quite as often as we did in the past - that costs too much as well. We're not buying any more points. The cost per point is outrageous.

No, but I've warned my wife if we can find a townhome in the Disney area that meets our needs that our points are going to be the downpayment.

We sold a 100 point Vero contract and we're putting that money aside for when they open up sales of DVC Hawaii. We kept our main DVC contract at Boardwalk.

Nope. Not us. The current resale values are still a good amount above our original purchase price, plus we feel like we've already gotten that amount's worth of value from our membership. We would have to have a pressing need for cash in order to sell.

No, I'm not selling, but I did skip a Disney vacation in 2008 due to a little financial uncertainty.

If all goes well, I'll take a long DVC vacation next year (or two one week stays). :goodvibes

I have two contracts: 150 at the Boardwalk, and 150 at SSR. I am going to sell the SSR points since they were primarily bought for my husband's last minute golf trips and since he has passed, I really don't need that many points. I will be selling through the TSS for sure since they have been so good to me personally and to this board.

I noticed your husband was born in '66. My sister's husband passed away January 29th, 2008, and he was born in '66. We miss him so much.

We've downsized some contracts over this last year. We've been trying to help my husband's dad (his health has went downhill fast) and coupled with worries over the economy, we thought it best to be a little leaner on long-term obligations. That said, if things start looking up, I would sure love an add-on at Contemporary eventually. :)

It does seem like the longer you wait to get rid of unwanted points and member fees, the more difficult it will be.

Every day the list of DVC contracts get longer and longer! There are about 20 pages of listings today. It looks like there will be twenty-one pages tomorrow. Every day the prices of the contracts for resale are going down in value. :sad2:
