I am not sure if this belongs here, but thought I would give it a shot.

We own (completely paid for) a 2-bedroom condo at Westgate Vacation Villas. It is a very nice place and we have been happy w/ them each time we are there. The problem is that we don't go to Orlando but every few years. Some years we rent it out, but not always. The maintanence fees and taxes keep going up. This year they were $670.00. That is fine when we go to Orlando, but the years we don't that would pay for a big chunk of our motel stay somewhere else.

My question is, what is the best way we can sell this??? We really want to get rid of it. We are about ready to look into selling for cash, I know you don't get much for you $, but like I said, it is pd for, and we just really want to sell!!

Any sugestions would be appreciated. TIA!!!

Since I've never bought or sold a resale timeshare (I bought direct from DVC)...so I'm just guessing. You may want to contact the Timeshare Store or another timeshare reseller. The timeshare store is one of our boards sponsors.

I would advise against using a broker/realtor that wants $$ upfront to list your timeshare.

Here is a link to the Timeshare Stores site.

Timeshares in general, especially Orlando timeshares, tend to sell for a fraction of the developer prices. Depending on the week, you may be able to get as much as $4-5K if you're lucky. I see a number of weeks advertised on TUG for between $2K and $3K for 2 BR units at various of the Westgate options. The TUG sales database reflect those prices for resale as well. Good luck. This may not be worth listing with a company. If you do, make sure you do so nonexclusively so that if you sell it yourself, you don't have to pay the fee anyway. I think Shontell lists this way, not sure about the others.
