Selling Christmas cookies from home?

I make Christmas cookies every year for my adult childrens work. They start asking my kids if I will be making them again every year. Everyone says I should sell them. The question is, if I make them up and sell them ,is there any health code issues or anything I should check into? I don't want to do anything illegal. It would be quite a few cookies and I will be charging for them. Thanks for any help.
