I am single and selling my house all on my own, I am scared but I know in my heart it is the right thing to do. Anyone else do it on there own without a spouse or partner, if so tell me how the experience was please, I am nervous but excited all in one? Anybody from MA tell me about your town and why I might like to move there. Right now I am South of Boston and instead of it being country it has turned into a city, HELP if you can, THANKS

Gail, No advice. That's one thing, as a single woman, I've never done. But I wanted to say, "Good luck" & I admire your courage!!!:D

Hi, Gail! I'm single, and this is the second home I'm selling alone. Closing is on Tuesday! :earseek: I can't wait! I can tell you that once closing is done and you're on your way, it's really exciting! However, the process of getting there can be something else. I was extremely lucky and had the buyer walk right into my life via a neighborhood realtor. It sold the first day. He was here at 8:30 a.m., we had a signed contract at 10:30 a.m. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I have a FANTASTIC realtor who actually worked! The last home I sold took 9 months to go. :( I was afraid of that happening again this time around. So when a buyer presented himself, I went for it! It does mess up school moving this time of year, but I've already faxed things to the private school I'm looking for my son to attend up there. We're going from FL to Virginia! Wooooooooooooo hooooooooooooo! I can't wait to get on the road!! :) :teeth:

The packers were here yesterday. Do yourself that favor and give yourself that luxury...have THEM pack!!!! It's worth the money. After all, it will be you on the other end doing all the unpacking. I've heard from others to NOT have the moving company unpack...things laying around anywhere, too much opportunity for things to get broken. Send me a PM if I can help with anything! Good luck with your move! :Pinkbounc

I am not as brave as you. I have an agent trying to sell my house. I do have a suggestion. Show your house by appointment only so that you can have someone else there with you. We had a really terrible thing happen here a few years ago. A woman real estate agent went to show a house alone to a man who had called her office. She was raped and murdered. I know the chances are slim of it happening, but why take the chance. Sorry if I am being morbid. Good luck with your sale!
