I put an item up for sale for the first time today on Ebay. It's been two hours and when I search for the type of item I'm trying to sell, it doesn't show my item. Does it take a while for the item to show up when you do a search for the item?

Yes, sometimes it takes a little while...it should be up shorty...HTH! I am not a pro but have been selling Ebay for a little while now...check me out!!! Ebay: atomsdepot

When searching make sure you are searching for the right time frame. You have a drop down menu that state sort by: then it give you options such at time, price, etc.
I usually choose the 3 day auction so if I just place my item for bit and do a search I scroll down for the correct time frame.

Hope this helps.
But it usually only takes a few minutes for the item to pop up.

Well it's been three and a half hours since I put the item up for sale, and it only shows if I search for it using the item #, and not if I search for it on the ebay home page by a description of the item. I wonder if I messed something up?

i just started the EBAY thing and my first posting took 6hrs to show up. It expalins it in the HELP section for sellers. It does say it will take 3-6 hours to show. My 3rd and 4th listings done on a seperate day showed within 30minutes :)

Check your spelling in the title and check the category you put the item in. Two common mistakes. Is the item showing up on your selling page?

It does show on my selling page, but maybe I didn't pick a category to sell it in? I'm sure I must have screwed something up because it's now been over five hours since I posted it. Very frustrating.... :guilty:

Can you do a search on the item number? And yes, category is very important. If you bring up your item it should tell you where it's listed (i.e. a category).

From your selling page go in to revise your listing. Check your category.

Did you research completed items and check the category the highest priced item came up as? If not, do that and match the category.

Also, how many days did you put your item up for? Did you check all the pages?

You will find it. It's there!:thumbsup2 Good luck by the way!

It's there! It's there! Thanks guys for all the replies! :goodvibes
