Hi everyone, we have not stayed at this resort yet. When we travel to Disney we go for a few days then hit the beach too. This June we want to use the spring discount option. WL seems best on price and location for MK, as we most likely are going there for 1 day only. The rest of our time is spent by swimming eating and going to DTD. We looked at some YouTube videos yesterday on the pool, and where a little disappointed. Is the pool much fun for younger kids? Mine will be 5 and 8. I didn't really see any squirts and just the one slide. We are thinking of CBR or BC just because of the pools. CBR hotel does not excite me at all, and BC looks good but much more money. plus at BC I worry it is to big for my kids. it would be harder to keep any eye on them.
Any positive feedback on the pools at WL.

Thanks everyone!:dance3:

Ours just happens to be WL.....it is a very compact resort....pool is small but there are about 700 rooms....we've never had any problems with the pool or seating....and the boat ride is great to the MK...for the price and location and being a deluxe...we've done WL over 10 times.....

They have afternoon pool games and such, music and the CM's really get into it.....the pool has 2 sides.....one has the slide, which isn't that big but fun and the other side where the water enters is the deepest.....kiddee pool separate with 2 hot tubs....

We've been to almost all the seluxe resorts and people swoon over the Y&B with SAB.....it is a great canal type thing but it gets so over crowded you can't find 2 lounges together.....the slide there is long and high and requires leaving the pool area and crossing the walkway to climb the stairs to enjoy it....with young children really hard to keep tabs on and relax yourself.....

toygh decision picking resorts but we choose on location, and being MK fans....WL wins on price over the momorail resorts...good luck choosing...

There are two slides? Is one like the small on at the side of the pool at ssr? Then the other the main slide? I was hoping for a small one an the normal one? That would be great.

Can't speak to WL, but wanted to ask if you've considered POR or POFQ? If you plan on spending a lot of time at DTD, the boats from these resorts to DTD is hard to beat. Plus POR and POFQ have some great pools.

There's only one slide at WL, in the center of the "U" shaped main pool.....up the rock escarpment and down the slide.....no slide at the kiddee pool and none at the pool for the villas....know nothing about SSR......the slide is medium, with a curve.......

There are two SIDES, not sLides, is what the PP said.

I do like WL, but mostly for the value I think it is for proximity and ease of getting to MK, and with our kids, that's where we spend most of our time. For pool time, I think I'd make another choice.

Oops you are right I see where she said two sides, not slides.

Thanks everyone.

Love the theming. The lobby is fantastic, fireplace awesome, the grounds beautiful, the boat to the MK convenient, CM were great, and liked the restaurants. Nice resorts to explore inside and out. I enjoyed walking the grounds in the early morning with a cup of coffee while the rest of the family was getting ready for the day.

We didn't stay there but walked through Sat night to spy it out for a possible future stay. The pool looked awesome to me. My 4 yr old loves the theme pools and water slides. It looked more than adequate to us! We've stayed at BC, GF and FW. BC so far has had the best pool, but we can't expect each resort pool to match up to that. The pool area seems to cover as much resort space as the rooms.
GF's pool was ok. Basically a pool with a water fall and one large twisty slide. FW's pool was very nice-big pool, not very deep, but large. Big themed water slide. Large splash area with 2 water slides for little ones, and a hot tub.
I think each trip has its own unique must do list and theme. If this trip is mostly about resort and pool time then go for that.
BC is def not too big for your kids, imo. You'll have to keep an eye regardless of where you go, but I wouldnt worry. The lifeguards are spot on.
CBR's pools look appealing to me, but like you said not much else appeals to me personally.
SSR looks like it has a really nice pool/spa area. I'd also consider that. If proximity to MK matters most to you, though, I'd go with WL.

We just returned from CBR (first stay there) and will be going back to Disney in January. We LOVED CBR. Because of the pools!! My kids LOVED the small kiddie area. They played for hours and I could lay in a chair... it was heaven. But, we are going to give WL a try this January. I have actually switched back and forth twice or so LOL! If I was going in the summer months I would go back to CBR without a doubt but because of the time of year, I think the WL will be good this trip with the big cozy fireplace and feel to the place. I will let you know soon as we get back if WL was a mistake or not! hee

We love the WL and think the pool is great :thumbsup2. It's also nice having the boat for going to MK, as well as to the CR where you can hop on the monorail to visit the Poly and GF :goodvibes. We also love Roaring Forks for CS meals, especially if you're spending time at the pool.....very convenient for quick snacks and/or meals ;).
