We've never done this at Epcot and we're planning on trying it out in Sept. on our next trip. I see there is no FP+ so is this something that should be done in the first hour of park opening? How are the waits usually during the day? Can more than two people do it at once?

Back in November my family rode it for the first time. We went in around lunch and had about a 20 min wait. Only two people fit at a time. My son enjoyed making his own roller coaster and we will definitely do it again :)

  • Waits during our last trip were about 30 minutes in the middle of the day. If the line is backed up to the main walkway it's 30+ minutes
  • You have to be a certain height to design a coaster with a loop
  • Well worth doing once to see if it's for you
  • It's my 12 year old's 2nd favorite thing to do in all of Epcot (first is Test Track)

My teen DD's LOVE this ride- we try to get there before 10:30am as the loading time is slow. They enjoy building their own coasters. Sometimes they ride together and sometimes alone (I believe that 2 is the max number of people in ride). I do NOT do this ride as I am prone to motion sickness (and DD's design rides upside down/crazy turns). It's similar to riding the build your own coaster at DTD Disney Quest. It's a must do for my girls each trip.

Do you have the option of downloading your creation to keep or does your coaster just disappear after you ride it?

Just a warning, most "pooh sized" people will not fit.

Is this drastically better than Cyber Space Mountain in DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney? I would hope so because we thought Cyber Space Mountain was sooo ridiculous, lol.

We've always received a card for every time you ride that you get to keep. There is a code on the card you can use at the website to see your creation. The last time we went was November 2013, so not sure if this is still the case.

It's alright. Mainly geared toward younger ones as far as thrill level goes. Rode it for the first time in February, it was fun, but I wouldn't wait more than about 15 min. It would be more fun if it were a little more intense and lasted longer. It's a very short ride

Only two people can ride together. You have to be a certain height to go upside down. And I don't think it's a ride you have to do within the first hour. Normally it's about a 15-30 min wait

Also I'll add that if you want an "intense" experience, ask the CMs if you can ride one of their pre-designed experiences. They know all the tips and tricks, so they have cards with wilder rides on them.

I would still design my own, just because the process can be fun, but when you're done with the design process, you can put your card away and ride theirs if you want a bit more action.

We got the card with our ride on it in Feb 2014.
We just kind of happened upon it. We were in Innoventions and my husband was busy doing something I can't even remember what and I saw a 20 minute wait outside Sum of All Thrills so my then 7 year old and I went ahead. It was really fun. Definitely worth doing, shouldn't need a FP

I have only done each one time, but I enjoyed Cyber Space Mountain more. As far as when to do it, right after Test Track at rope drop (if you have FP+ for Soarin').
