With Free Dining, We are going down to Disney 3 Days before Free Dining Starts, Staying at Pop.

We have no park tickets and nothing planned for the first 3 days before Free Dining Starts, so we were looking into what to do.
Sea world? Going to be soo Hot to be so far away from a hotel to cool off.
Pirate Princess Party, we are going to be in the parks for 10 days, So nah.

So we were looking into Upgrading Hotels for the 3 days

Thought Coronado, But other than the slide, nothing else to do over there

Then we thought Beach Club.
Ive only heard great things about the Pool, But my question is.
Is there enough to do with the Pool, Boardwalk for 3 days to make it worth me coming up with 500 more dollars?

Sell Me on it?
We have 4 Kids, 4 Adults with this Trip

Whats to do?
We have only passed the boardwalk during the day, So Details Please

well the pool / beach will probably keep the kids busy during the day, the boardwalk at night - not sure about 3 days with no parks though. You can always go to DTD, maybe tour the other resorts etc. The Beach Club is a great resort in prime location. Maybe get the DDP for the first 3 days??? Not sure if thats possible.

You have the pool, arcade, volleyball, tennis, movies (currently being shown outside), The Solarium (where you can play games/cards), and the BW. I did buy some travel games before our trip last year. We spent a couple of hours playing Connect Four and Uno. The Solarium is very relaxing for game playing.

There are surrey and bike rentals at BW if you're looking for something to break a sweat.

In addition, there's the Fantasia mini golf right near The Swan hotel.

I also agree with the other poster that evening times could be filled with trips to DD.

Have a great time!

Well, the pool keeps our kids busy for hours and hours -- we have to pull them away in order to go to parks. If your kids are the ages where they like sand, there is an entire sandy pool (sand on the bottom and also mounds of sand to play in). For the older kids and adults, there is a "lazy river" sort of thing where you can go in tubes. There is also a very big slide and also a small slide.

The Boardwalk is fun, has daily and nightly entertainment such as magicians and music, you can rent surrey bikes and ride around the water (it's a beautiful ride, especially at night when Illuminations is going on). You can watch Illuminations fireworks easily without entering Epcot, there are arcade-style games on the Boardwalk, sometimes face painting, various food stands, shopping, bakeries and ice cream and candy, fine dining and also casual dining, pizza take-out window with tables on the boardwalk.

I agree with others to take a bus to downtown disney too.

I think staying at the BC is doable for 3 days without park passes. However, if you do change your mind about passes, it's very very very convenient to walk to Epcot from BC -- it's about a 5-minute walk.

Just returned from BC last week. I think that you would be fine. :thumbsup2 My 3 kids would have been thrilled with 3 full days of the SAB. They swam for an hour or two each day but that was never enough for them. You could always take the boat to the Swan or Dolphin for breakfast just for a change of scenery. If you did downtown disney or the boardwalk in the evening just to break it up you would probably be fine. I did notice the arcade though never had a chance to go in.

My 7yr old daughter and I did afternoon tea at the GF. I highly recommend that. It was so nice to spend some girly-time together.

I'm sure that you will have a great trip whatever you decide:goodvibes

The pool is very nice, but one of (IMHO) the best things about BC is the location, and the easy access to EPCOT and MGM. If you don't have park access those 3 days, then I think the great location loses alot of it's value.

You can head to DTD from any resort, so that option is still there no matter which resort you stay at.
I don't see the Boardwalk area alone having enough value to justify the additional $500, but mainly b/c you won't have park passes.

If you are thinking about visiting those "other" theme parks, perhaps you should stay off property for those three days (unless, of course, you won't have a car and need ME).

I have spent long weekends at several Disney resorts without going to the parks and my favorite is WL. I like being able to rent a bike and ride all around between and through FW and WL. I like being able to rent a boat and have a lot of space to drive around (Bay Lake is so much better for boat rentals than Crescent Lake, in my opinion). If I don't feel like renting a boat, then I can get on the small boat that makes the CR/WL/FW loop, and ride the lake for free. It's simple to take either the resort boat or the MK boat and get to the monorail resorts (GF, Poly, CR) to have more dining opportunities. And if you are looking for counter service, I think Roaring Forks is better than Hurricane Hannah's (again, my opinion).

I have to agree with the previous poster who said that aside from SAB, the biggest advantage to the Epcot resorts is their proximity to Epcot and MGM. If you aren't going in the parks at all, it kind of takes away a lot of the value of the extra money you are spending. Could I spend a long weekend there without going to the parks? Sure. Would I? Probably not my first choice, but if WL was booked, I would.

There is tons to do at BC for three days...we would have been at the pool all four days if it weren't for a lot of thunderstorms! There are activities at Stormalong Bay from around 9:30AM all the way to the movies at the beach at night! They continue on the patio even if it does rain!:thumbsup2 Also there is Goofy's Beach Bash breakfast at Cape May, if you don't do parks...you can still have characters!:goodvibes

The BW has a lot of great things from the juggler, cycling pianist, magician, carnival games, hair wrapping, surrey bikes, ESPN, etc. It is very entertaining too!:woohoo:

I say... GO FOR IT!:thumbsup2

3 days at BC will fly by. You can easily be entertained there for much longer. The pool is awesome. You can do movies on the beach at night and they have campfire sing alongs now too. BC is our fav resort hands down. I'e spent 6 days there and only park we did was BB.

Oh boy, I forgot about the movie on the beach every night! And how could I forgot about the character breakfast right at BC too. Yes, there are certainly lots of things to do. I always say that staying at the Epcot resorts is like a vacation within a vacation.

I'm doing the exact same thing.....

I'm going to pofq on 8-26...
staying at BCV for 3 nights before.....I even added another night
at yacht club 1st night....

I will be chilling by the pool.....going to dinner....
and walking the boardwalk....
bars....clubs....maybe....kids clubs...while we have a nice dinner:)
walk to the bridge by epcot and watch illuminations...

I don't think you will be bored....in fact...
you might discover wdw is awesome without stepping
foot in a park.
Have fun
Kerri
