Selfie Sticks

I've seen a lot about them being used on rides recently and how people want to have them banned.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows if they've been banned from the parks?

Looking to take one (not for on ride photos!) for a photo or two in the park but won't bother packing it if they're banned.

There were plenty of people using them in the park when we were there last month - mainly for selfies in front of the castle etc. I can see they might be dangerous on rides and have never see one in use there. Heck, they do nothing about smoking all around the park, I can't see them bothering about selfie sticks!

whats wrong with asking someone to take a pic.... are we really that anti sociable now!

I noticed them a lot in Disnyland Califonia last month- they are distracting on rides- the screen is basically like a bright light shining in your eyes, som idiot tried to use one on indianna jones- when it got bumpy it smacked a guy on the head.

They wont get banned- its just the new annoying fad! Downtown disney were actually selling them, if they not reached paris yet.... they will!

They aren't banned atm you get the idiots taking them on rides, like those who refuse to take pictures without flash, and then there are some there for Dreams,parades, m&gs etc.

I don't mind them as such ,prefer people holding them up than blocking the view with their ipads, notebooks etc to film everything.

ps- Cherry, the only people that can stop people smoking in the parks are the police so that day is a long way off.
