OOoo thats interesting...

So have a i got this right?.... i can buy 5 shares or £50 worth on selftrade, and then pay 33euros to join the shareholders club in which i would get discounts.... and memebrship last for how long a year? and then do i need to pay another memebership fee?

The membership length is 2 years, so you just pay your €33 every 2 years.
I found out today that Eurotunnel also do shareholder discount, but it's nowhere near as good as Disney. If you hold 25 Eurotunnel shares (at about £7 each), you are entitled to 30% of 3 return crossings a year.

Ooo that even better... Right so how long does it take to do all this, confirm with selftrade etc? and how and where do you pay for the shareholders membership?

It used to be free trips up to X amount of them a year, that however stopped and was replaced by the new discount.

Okay, I've done it!

Having spoken to a really helpful person on the shareholder's helpline, who said I can have the shareholder's card issued in surname only, I opted to buy 20 shares after all. I signed up for a Selftrade account only this morning, then used a debit card to add funds, then was immediately able to purchase my shares!

The only slight mistake I made was to credit about £18 too much, because I did not realise the price it was giving me included the admin fee, plus I added a little as the price seems to change constantly. It doesn't matter though, as once it gets to 2nd October I can transfer the remainder back into our bank account.

I filled out my application on-line, then printed it (yes, it did enable me to), and posted it off along with my contract note marked for the attention of the person I spoke to. I will email them in a week or so and check that it was received. There is a space on the form to enter credit card details if you need to pay the €30 BTW

So, now I am officially a shareholder
