Does anyone know how much the laudry facility charges are? And are the easy to find on the ship?

Thanks,

Sue

I believe that is is $1 per load for both the washer & dryer. I did laundry on our 11/03 cruise but not last time so not sure if it has changed.

They are on Deck 2 (across from #2096), Deck 6 (across from #6588) Deck 7 (across from#7590). They have vending machines for powder detergent for $1.00 each and its about $3.00 for a full load ($1.00 wash - 38 minutes and $2.00 dry - 48 minutes). I've heard suggestions to bring your own detergent (Target sells little bottles of liquid Tide and small boxes of dryer sheets) and even a roll of quarters. The best time would be early morning :sunny: .

Hope this helps!! :paw:

$1 to wash, 1$ to dry, and $1 for soap. I believe they are on deck 2,6, and 7 midship. I used the ones on deck 7. Be sure when you use the washer to wait at least 10mins before you leave because they seem to shut off sometimes and your load won't get washed. So many people left right after putting their money in and their clothes never washed because for some reason they would shut off. I reset at least 4 washers when I was there. Those poor people would have come back and been real mad if they found them sitting there wet still.

I was able to fit 2 loads of wash in 1 dryer & ran it for 2 cycles to dry it all. From everything that I read you need to dry it twice anyway. Also, you can put another $1 in the dryer once you start it up & it will run for the full 2 cycles so you don't have to come back. ;) It also eliminates the chance that your stuff will be out on the table damp if you run late getting back to it.

After 10 pm is good, too--the laundry rooms are deserted then, except on the last couple of nights. I'm a night-owl...family isn't. After they went to bed, I'd head out, put a load in the washer and head down to the internet cafe for a bit. I'd come back to switch to the dryer, wander off to see what was on the late-night snack table, head up to deck 9 for a bit (where it felt as if I was the only person on the ship) to just enjoy the night air and then come back for the clothes.

The dryers are just awful, by the way, so the tip about putting in enough quarters for an extra run is a great one. If you're in a hurry, pay the extra 1.00 and split your loads into two dryers. One nice person gave me this tip when she picked up her clothes. She had some time left on her two dryers which she pointed out to me so I could use them. :goodvibes

I had one of those washers that shut off...I came back to a washer of damp clothes that were covered with the powdered detergant! I also bring the soap tablets when I travel, they are easy to transport. Most things took 2 dryer cycles but things like my daughters small clothes and bras and underwear I put in a seperate dryer and they were done in one cycle.
You can't miss the laundry rooms, when you walk down the hallway you will be hit with a blast of heat as you walk up to them LOL...

Thank you. Does anyone know if open on embarkation day?

Do they have change machines?

They do have change machines in the laundry rooms but I have been there a few times when they have been empty so I always bring my own change.

When I was there they were empty too. I brought my own though.
