Self Portrait pattern problem

Hi everyone...Hope you can help me...A friend gave me her patttern for self portrait, but said that jers came with an ironon decal for walts face..anynsuggestions on how i can do this without the iron on? thanks and happy stitching my email is linen4004@aol.com

My first thought would be to find the image online, resize it to fit your need and print it on either an iron on sheet like they use for t-shirts or the ink jet photo fabric like they sell for quilting. June tailor makes one called quick fuse that you print and lay face up on your project and iron on. So you're not transfering the image but actually attaching a piece of printed fabric on top. I'm just not sure if the extra fabric layer won't make the project too thick.
