Self parking at the Grand Floridian

I read self parking for GF is across the street from the resort. Has anyone stayed there recently? Is it far? I realize I can valet, but I prefer to park myself. We've used self parking at Poly and CR and never had issues (except sometimes it's tough to find an available spot at CR). Is GF self parking lot much further away than self parking at Poly or CR?

We were there last week to see the Gingerbread house and I expected to be told to go to the lot across the street like always but the guard told us to park at the villas parking lot. Is it far? Um, not in the grand Disney scheme of things. Down the driveway, thru the light, into the lot.

I think the GF parking lot is a little farther than what you will find at the CR and Poly, but it's not that much farther that it's unbearable to walk (at least not to me).

We must have gotten lucky in November....we got to self-park right in front of the resort! It's so much nicer now since they switched up the lots.
