Looking to eat breakfast there most mornings, and we're wondering:
*are their beignets, are any good?
*how much is milk/juice/etc at the food court?
*have you ever brought your own breakfast (stowed away in luggage), what'd you bring, and was it worth it?

*how do I stay calm and make it 63 days until I get to go to the greatest place in the Universe, a place I haven't been in two loooong years?

thanks,

I loved the beignets. That being said, I've never had the real thing. My Mom has though, and they like staying at POFQ just so she can have them. So they've got to be at least close! I thought the breakfast selection was pretty good. And definitely large enough to share. I don't remember the costs on the juices and such though...they're probably the same prices as everything else on property.

I did also grab some Nutri Grain bars to throw in my bag for the mornings that we didn't get breakfast at the Food Court. My friend & I that went aren't huge breakfast people. We weren't planning on eating breakfast there at all, but we had some time to kill one morning and woke up starving, we were pleasantly surprised. We did have Nutri Grain bars the other mornings on the tram into the park after parking the car :) So that worked out well for us. If you have little ones who are used to a bowl of cereal for breakfast, I would stick with giving them cereal. The food courts have a selection of Kellogg's Reduced Sugar Cereals.

Hope that helps!

Are you on the dining plan? If so then prices and such don't really matter unless you are paying out of pocket. We are about to go for our honeymoon and have never stayed here, but my family went in June and raved about the food court. My mom had the beignets every day and she talks about them all the time. My sister said the mickey waffle was to die for with fresh fruit. I think you will enjoy it. If you are worried about packing food, you could always take a cab to Goodings at Cross Roads right by POFQ to do some quick shopping, warning they are a little pricey but a really great grocery store. Have fun and no worries:thumbsup2

I'd pack some breakfast bars, the food court is packed in the morning. If you haven't had "real" beignets then you'll enjoy the ones at the food court.

the beignets are excellent, but you have to eat them fresh. If you're on the dining plan, your can get 6 for a snack credit. Cash price-I want to say it was like $3.89 for 6, or something close to that. We found the 6 order was about the right amount to feed 2 adults for breakfast...the order looks huge, but remember they're full of air (think hot pocket without filling for general shape & size). If you're staying at POFQ, you'll have the coffee maker in your room-our pattern was one of us stayed in the room & made coffee, other went & picked up 6 pk of beignets every morning (we quickly got addicted!)

When we were there, several people from New Orleans were always ordering them for breakfast at same time as we were--they all said the Disney version was "really close" to the real thing. Warnings--beignets are COVERED with powdered sugar-don't eat them in a dark colored shirt!:rotfl: And, you can't save them for next day, or even later in the day...they're fried fresh when you order them, and within an hour they're getting hard & stale.

As for breakfast items-if you're not big breakfast eaters, I say go for the cereal or granola bars (handy to put in bag for snacks in the parks, too.) We usually take a couple of boxes with us. Course, we never ate them for breakfast after the 1st morning trying beignets...after that, we had 'em every morning:thumbsup2

Looking to eat breakfast there most mornings, and we're wondering:
*are their beignets, are any good? OMG YES. Enough said. :)*how much is milk/juice/etc at the food court? There is small and large size juice, not sure about milk & I think the price range was between 1.39 to 2.79
*have you ever brought your own breakfast (stowed away in luggage), what'd you bring, and was it worth it? Yes, we've taken bagels, granola and cereal bars, fruit and pop tarts. We are light breakfast eaters so it was worth it for us.

*how do I stay calm and make it 63 days until I get to go to the greatest place in the Universe, a place I haven't been in two loooong years? Pace yourself LOL. Have a wonderful trip! :)

They are awesome!

We stopped at a grocery store on our way to POFQ last summer and had breakfast in the room. I also mailed down a box of food items two summers ago to CBR. My son has food allergies and I was worried about what he could eat. He was fine and the mailed items were not necessary. We did breakfast in the food court a few times and it was very good. Not too expensive.

Just a head's up - the prices have gone up -

Beignets are now $4.29 for 6 - so if you order the 6 - you'll be charged 2 snack credits not one.

I think it was $2.99 for 3?

I was a little disappointed at all the price increases I found in December.

The beignets are yummy though!

You shouldn't have a problem. Don't worry about bringing your own food. Disney always caters to those with unique tastes and needs.

yes, the beignets are awesome! (and I have had them in NO too...but I'm not terribly picky about my fried dough with powdered sugar pilen on the top) My mom and I split a order of 6 beignets every morning for breakfast.......it was great......on a side note, I can't believe I see people at the food court every morning eating huge breakfast platters every morning.....I might burst if I ate that every morning.....
