I just was reading Disney's web site and noticed this.

FREE Disney Dining Plan* – The FREE Disney Dining Plan includes one quick-service meal, one select snack and one meal at a select table-service restaurant per person, per night of your package.

Are they limiting what table service we can use during free dining or is this just how they word it ? I hope not I have three nice ADRs made.

I think the implication of that wording refers to the fact that some TS restaurants cost 1TS and some cost 2TS. So, if you used TS credits toward a 2TS meal, then one day, you would have to pay OPP for a TS restaurant, if you wanted to eat TS.

Thats kind of what I was thinking and hoping. I'm on dailup internet at work and cant research very fast. Thanks.

As far as we've heard, folks taking advantage of the free dining promotion are treated exactly like those who pay for the Dining Plan -- no difference.

Good morning.

You might run across a particular restaurant having their own rules concerning DDP use (like a golf course might have "local rules".) Each restaurant may be different...

One case I can remember was Raglan Road. At one time, and I don't know if this situation is current, they had a restriction for a couple on DDP ordering an appetitizer for two. If one ordered it, both had to order it, and that counted as the appetitizer for both (both using 1 TS each).

It can get a little confusing, so I recommend asking questions of the service staff when seated and ordering.

I hope this helps.

Spoodles has the same deal: The dessert sampler can only be ordered by two diners.

The "select table service restaurant" is actually on all DDP material (regarding free dining or paid dining plan).

It is because not all restaurants in disney participate in the the DDP and therefore, it is only "select" restaurants (over 100 of them) that you can use the dining plan at.
