Seizure Monitors

My oldest daughter has grand mal seizures and was seizure free for 5 years at one point but they have come back and right now she is on medication change number 3 in less then a year. She had a seizure on Sunday at midnight that could have been the end of her if not for our dog that was frantically trying to get out of my room. Her sister the night owl then noticed from her room that her sister was having a seizure. By the time I got in her room her face was buried in vomit in her pillow. In the past I have used a baby monitor but I think I need something more so am wondering what other people use to monitor their child's seizure activity at night.

My son has Autism/ Epilepsy he is 19 and started seizing at 16 years old. . We have used a baby monitor for him. His Behavior Therapist suggested sewing jingle bells on his pillow case so when he seizes they jingle. My dog is a 4 yr old blk lab never been trained but he has alerted on one occasion when he has had a small seizure. Not sure if your dog was kinda doing the same. The dogs pick up that there smell is diffrent. Mike has silent type seizes if they are little but I have been told he makes noises or yells when he has Grand Mals. I have never seen him have a Grand Mal and sure hope I never have to but I know if he did I would be able to handle it. I always melt down after the crisis

I'm sorry to hear about your daughters seizures. Have you tried to contact The Danny Did Foundation. They help parents with children who have epilepsy get seizure monitors.
