Segway

Thanks

There were no Segways on our Magic Cruise. I remember reading a while ago that they had some on CC, but they weren't there in May. The only place I've seen them in the past year has been Epcot.

Segways are motorized two wheel verhicles. They used to let you pay to try them on the Magic on Sea days (at selected times) and also on CC. I saw them once on the Magic but that was well over a year ago.

We took the Epcot tour this past May and it was great.

They are gone from the ships, but in addition to the tour at Epcot, Relay in Celebration FL offers some neat Segway tours. You get to go faster than you do on the WDW tours.

No Segways on our 12-27-03 Eastern, but that was after the big fuss over them. Some people got hurt because of some sort of malfunction, about the same time President Bush fell off one.
I know the State Of California bought some for Park Rangers to use, and after the malfunction problem came up, they returned them all.

You can also try them at innoventions at Disneyland for free. It's actually the only place I know of you can try them without having to pay from them (you do have to pay to get into DL though.

On the Magic in Mid-December they did not offer the Segway rides. However I did attend a meeting in one of the deck two meeting rooms and there was a pile of junk in the corner of the room and in the middle of the pile was the Segway. So it was on the ship in December, but not in use.
