Segway tour ???

My DH & I are thinking of trying the tour, but I was wondering about the AP discount. I will be upgrading my hopper to an AP once I get there, but can I still book the tour & get the discount (for both of us) if I do not have my AP inhand. I'm sure that I need to book this tour 60 days in advance, right? Does it sell out fast?
 
"Tours may be booked up to one month in advance by calling (714) 781-4400".

I would imagine you can book with the discount before you actually upgrade, but I don't know. DLR is pretty easy about booking ahead of time with AP discounts, though.

No problems about the repeats bumber. It just reminds me of the fun I had while riding it.

My sister and I always put out our hands like we are riding the segways while walking through DCA. Brings a smile to our faces for something we shared together.

I have yet to hear any threads about sold out tours, but maybe with it's growing popularity, who knows. I know the cost still stops many from doing it.

OP, I think the best bet might be giving them a call and asking about this specific situation. I'm curious to know if they'd reimburse part of the payment, or cancel, and rebook another tour myself.

Yes, you can book it at the AP rate even if you don't have an AP at the time - they don't ask for any "proof" that you have an AP. You will be required to show your AP when you pick up the tickets at Guest Relations, though, which you can do a day or two before the tour.
 
No - we were unable to book the segway tour with the AP discount without our AP's onhand. We called, she asked for our AP number, we told her we didn't have it as we would be getting the AP's when we arrived, she said she needed it to book the discount.

For whatever its worth, the tour was awesome!

OK, my head's going to explode. :):headache: I've been sick, and that's after my boy was sick for 5 days, and we haven't been able to do much, and so I've been scouring all of the boards even more than usual. Therefore, the "yes" and "no" answers are in my head even more than usual!

It must stop, please, just come up with ONE answer Disney and stick to it!

You'll be asked for So CA identification at the gate No you won't.
You have to get your fingers scanned at WDW No you don't.

And until that time, to someone not being allowed to book a room at an AP discount or book the tour with the discount, just CALL BACK. Talk to another CM. 'cuz it seems they'll have a different answer! :upsidedow

Thought I'd let you know, we did hang up and call back, got a new cm (a nicer one actually) and she still required the AP number as proof. She also said we could not be reimbursed the difference after we got our AP. So unless things have changed since November I would not count on getting your discount but stranger things have happened.
 
Thanks for your help. I guess that it does not hurt to try... What are they going to do?...not give me the discount.
