I know this has probably been asked many times before but I would like to know what everyone thinks about the Segway Tour. I'm thinking of doing this during my December trip. Details would be great!

Thanks! :thumbsup2

It's great! My wife and I did the World Showcase Segway Tour last year and it was one of the highlights of our trip. I became jealous of the CMs we encountered (also riding Segways) that morning; as they opened up shops and restaurants - they get to ride around World Showcase most everyday before park opening! It is such a relaxing and beautiful place when it's nearly empty except for some groundskeepers, maintenance vehicles and whatnot - and the morning sunlight still low in the sky.

The guides were fun and informative and we learned a lot about the construction and design of the various lands.

The boys did it last year DD,DB and the boyfriend they had a blast! it was 2 hours. One hour to learn it and one hour on your own. they even got a special pin after the event! Have fun if you do decide to do it

Best part of our trip.

If you book the 9:30 - you can get there as it opens and grab a fastpass for Soarin', ours was for 11:30 which is when the tour ends! We did that and still managed to get to lunch in Morocco before it got busy!
Also - if you do the 9:30 - you will be in WS as it is opening up - nicer that way than with everything boarded up. And you'll be on your way out as people are coming in. It's fun to hear all of the "bored dads" perk up like little kids asking how to do it.
We had a great time and will do it again! Would love to see a tour at another park.
Really easy to "drive".

My husband and I did this tour this past Jan and it was great. It is two hours long. You do an hour of training indoors and then out into the park and around the World Showcase. A very cool experiance.

My family of 4 (DH, me, DS18 and DS17) all did it in June. The guys all said it was the highlight of our trip. DS's and I are going back with my family for a family reunion in 18 days and ALL the guys have now booked it also (my father, ds's dB-i-l and 2 dnephews). I recommend it. It's a lot of fun and a unique experience... and if you are concerned about driving the segway in tight places, you can hang back with one of the guides and avoid the "hard" parts. You will end up with helmet hair though !!!!

Go and enjoy! I think its a blast!

My DH & I LOVED this tour. We want to do it again & are thinking about surprising our son on his b'day, since he was too young to ride this past year. If you've already been thinking of doing it & think you will enjoy it, definitely go for it because I'm sure you'll love it.

We booked a Segway tour for my husband for Father's Day. He seemed lukewarm about it when we told him, but he raves now and says it was his favorite part of our vacation. :thumbsup2

Some of the resorts have programs for small children, don't they? Couldn't you leave them there and then pick them up after your "tour"? Also, some of the resorts have babysitting I think? Just a thought.

My hubby and I just did this and we have 3 kids (5,7 and9) . I was able to get the pirate cruise out of the Yacht Club at the same time. We were at the Marina and droped the kids off at 9:15a for their 9:30 adventure (btw they loved this!!) and we ran into Epcot to the Segway building. As soon as we were done we ran back to Yacht Club for the kids. It was exhausting but we loved it!!! Hubby liked it much better than he thought. I had also done it in January when I was there for a girls weekend. Its alot of fun!!!

This was an EXCELLENT tour! DF and I did it this past May, and it was one of the most fun times we had that trip. DF was zipping around like a five year old kid. We took the 8:30 tour, which meant we were out in the World Showcase by 9:30. It's the most relaxing and amazing thing to have WS basically all to yourselves! There was so much room to roam around, and they give you little challenges throughout each pavillion (as well as telling you little details about each country) that are fun to conquer. Then as we were coming back to Innoventions as the tour was ending we could see all the other guests staring at us wondering what was going on. I totally reccommend this tour - and if you book with a Disney Visa you get 15% off! Hope this helps... :thumbsup2

I am so excited. After reading this I called and was able to get a reservation for my husband to do this on our trip. They only had one spot, so I generously gave it to him. I may keep calling and see if theres a cancellation on that day, or even another day so I can do it too. I got a discount with my AAA card.

Hope he enjoys it. My DH and I did it one trip and loved it, loved it, loved it.

Great fun.

Wow, only one spot! It must be pretty popular. How far ahead did you try to book for?

I got a reservation for August 26. That was the only spot they had for the entire time we will be there. I felt pretty lucky. The guy who made the reservation for me told me that they book up usually a couple months in advance.

Do you know if other people can watch the segway tour? Will the kids and I be able to watch our husband ride it & take some photos of him?
