Has anyone taken the Segway Tour who was staying at an Epcot area resort? Were you able to walk thru from International Gateway or do you need to take transpo to the front Epcot entrance?
TIA!

You're able to go through the Intl Gateway with no problem.
Have fun! It's a great tour.

I booked this tour for June 2005 this morning, and was told that we need to meet at Guest Relations at the front of Epcot outside of the entrance. Based on this, you'd be entering through International Gateway and have to walk to the front entrance, only to have to turn back around and go to World Showcase for the tour.

Anyone else have other info?

the first part of the tour is in a backstage area in future world learning how to ride the segway. then out you go w/a lead CM and a caboose CM. although you are in world showcase, you stay together as a group. only once are you "allowed" to ride about wherever. but keep in mind you are not to leave the area. an excellent tour and would do it again in a minute! enjoy:tongue:

I was told to meet at Guest Relations INSIDE the park (across from Space Earth) for our January Segway tour. That is also where my nephews met for their tour in August. I even double checked because she first said Guest Relations "at the front of the park", so I asked if she meant the one at the entrance gate, or the one across from SE - she checked and said the 2nd. - Anyone who's already gone know for sure?

For our August tour we were told to meet at the inside Guest Relations. Only problem was that the front gate didn't have our names. They made us sign in on the Princess Breakfast sheet before they would let us enter Epcot.

Not to worry--plenty of time to meet up at Guest Relations and move to Segway Central to learn Segway skills.

When I took the tour in May, I was able to walk through the IG to get to Guest Relations near Spaceship Earth. It's really neat walking into the park with no on else around--very surreal. I got a picture of me with Spaceship Earth in the back with no other people in the picture. And I got some great pictures of Canada and the UK without any people in it.

When we took the SEGWAY tour in May, we too were told to meet at Guest Relations at the front of the park (by the CM at the Beach Club desk). THAT'S WRONG! It's the Guest Relations right near Spaceship Earth.

We always enter through the International Gateway. In May they didn't have a list for the SEGWAY tour but they let us in without a problem.

In October, they did not have our name on a list either, and again just let us through.

However, in October we had the early tour and got there a little before 8:00. Security was there, but no cast member to let us in. A cast member got there just about 8:00, so don't bother to get there too early before 8:00.

Liked the tour the second time just as much as the first.

I'm interested in booking this tour but are the buses running in the morning to take us to the park? We are staying at AKL I want to make sure we are able to get there.

My husband saw this when we were just at EPCOT and said he had to do it next year when we go back. Can anyone tell me how much it is and how long it lasts?

Does anyone know if you get a discount on this tour if you are a passholder, like you do on the other tours?

I was thinking about surprising my DH & DD with this when we go over New Year's.

The full tour price is $80.- pp . The tour lasts 2 hours, 1 hour training, 1 hour in WS. I know there is a DVC discount of 15% (brought our price to $68 pp), I believe there is also a Disney Visa discount, not sure about AP discount, but probably- I'd call to check. The # to call for more info is 407 WDW TOUR (407-939-8687). You must be 18 yo (or 16 with adult to sign a waiver) and weigh no more than 250 lbs. Payment in full at time of booking, 48 hour cancellation required. Everyone is required to present ID. You need to be at Guest Services 15 min before the tour begins. I think that's about the whole spiel I got - can't wait to try this one !!:smooth: - Oh yeah, park admission is required in addition, of course.

I called a few days ago to book the tour for later in 2005 and was also told to meet at the Guest Relations office OUTSIDE the park. I even asked the CM to verify this info as we had done the tour before and had started at the Guest Relations office INSIDE the park. The CM said the meeting place had changed and to go to the GR outside the front gate. I guess I'll just have to check again closer to our trip.

Although we loved our tour, we loved even more going to Celebrations and renting the segways through them, We had to wait while he gave lessons to some newbies and then we were off for an hour and a half, for ~ $45. It was awesome! Although we still played follow the leader, we used machines that could go faster, and had a wonderful time.

If you book this...are you allowed to bring someone to video tape you that is not doing the tour. We (hubby and I ) want to do this, but would like to bring someone along to take pics and video.
:earsgirl: :earsboy:

DMRick- Could you please share some details about your Celebration Segway tour? Like where you go, what you see, what time do the tours start, etc.

Thanks...

January 26 tour and got 15% off for a total of $136.01 for both of us. Let the CM know when you call that you are using a discount BEFORE he/she takes your information or it will all have to be entered again.
