I wanted to share our delight with the Segway Tour.
My husband got to do it one day, and I did it the next. We couldnt get reservations on the same day. Let me tell you it was one of the best things about our trip. Even though we were not together, it was awesome.
We both got an 8:30 tour. So you have to get to guest services by 8:15am. No big deal. They sign you in and then take you over to the Innovations bldg where you get your training. The instructors are great, and the same people who teach you how to use them are the same ones who take you on the tour around Epcot.
I am not the most coordinated person but I caught on pretty quick. The hardest part was keeping it perfectly still. Forward, back, turning was pretty easy. It only took a few minutes until we were all very comfortable driving it around. They made a little obstacle course for us, inside the bldg and they said we had to master it before we could go out into the real world. In reality it was probably about a half hour total learning how to ride it.
Then they take you out into Epcot. The Future World part was open, but we went over to the World Showcase. They took us around the countries, up into some fun paths (one was pretty difficult to do ont eh Segway but I didnt crash or anything). They told us some fun facts about the countries and we got to see them without any guests around. They let us take photos a few times, and we got to do a little free ride in one area. It was really fun.
Then you go back to the Innovations Bldg. By this time Future World was getting kind of crowded, so manuevering around the people was fun. Everyone was staring at us and asking what we were doing. It was great. My husband and kids were watching me and laughing as I came back in to park my Segway. I loved the tour, and my husband did too. It is most defnitely worth every penny.
