We are very interested in doing the Segway tour of the World Pavillion. Can't find how far ahead we need to book in order to get it. Also - has anyone done this? Worth the cost?

DH and I did the Segway Experience in May - one hour inside the pavillion riding only. The 2 hour Tour was booked up when I called. We liked it so much (and wished it had been longer), that we have scheduled the Segway Tour of Epcot for next Saturday. I've read so many great reviews of the Tour and we can't wait to go. We booked the Tour about 3 months ago. At that time, we had several options for times and dates. The earlier you know your trip dates, the better your chances of booking the dates and times you want. Don't forget to ask for AAA discounts (15%) if you are a member. I believe there are AP discounts also available. You may think it's a little pricey, but it's a unique opportunity and something different to try at WDW. Hope you give it a try!

We did the Segway World Showcase Tour last month and it was a Blast! I would do it again in a minute, and hope to someday. In my opinion it was worth every penny. With our AAA discount it was $68/person. We spent one hour inside learning to ride and the second hour riding around World Showcase before it opened.
There are 2 Tours per day and each tour is limited to 10 people so only 20 people a day can do it. I would book as soon as you know your dates and which day during your vacation you want to take the tour.

Agree w/other posters. Call as soon as you know your dates to book. This was one of the most fun things we've ever done at WDW. We're going to do it again our next trip.

We are booked for the your on 12/9 for the first time. I booked back in late August/early Sept and for our 10 day trip we only had 3 days to choose from and only on 1 of those days both time slots were open.

We did the Segway tour in October and loved it!- Trust me, you will to. And if you want an account of what it is like, please see below in my signature and read "The One with Segways and No Paperwork'. It was tough for some to learn, but a good time had by all!

We did the tour earlier this month and it was one of the top three best things we did. I called on Friday and made our reservations for our next trip in Nov 2006 so don't delay! We paid $80 all up front, but I think you have 48 hours to cancel with no penalties. About 45 minutes into the tour everyone was asking how much they were to have at home - suddenly $3,000 -$5,000 didn't seem like that much money. Walking will never be the same!

I called 95 days out under the 90+10 program to book mine. I called back about a week later asking about changing it and all tours were booked for the 8 days we were there.

While there may be cancellations, I would book as soon as you are sure of your date.

You can alway cancel later if you need to, or move to a different time if it's available.

I think you could book these tours 180 days out before the new 180 day ADR program, so they may have been mostly booked when I called anyway.

You can book tours 180 days out. Its on the wdwinfo date planner page.

:rotfl2: Don't do it. You will hate it. Not worth the money. :rotfl:

:cool1: It is GREAT! But if I can not let others know how great it is then there is always a spot for me in the tour!

Absolutely try it. Its definately a neat experience. I booked 90 days out and the first tour at 8:30 was already booked! We got in the 9:30 and had an awesome time. When we were coming back from the World Showcase, they had just opened it and all the people were trying to ask us questions while we were riding...sooooo much fun! I hope you have Lamont as your guide, he was great! :goodvibes

Hi!

Our party did the Around the World at Epcot (Segway) tour in early December last year - and absolutely loved it! So much, in fact, that we're doing it again at the end of January (on our 34th trip to WDW - can't wait!)

Book early if you can - we were able to get the entire crew of 8 in on this next one, but the end of January is crowd-less at WDW.

Try it, and have fun! :cool1:

What day and which (early or late) are you booked for? My Mom and I may be the other two in your group!

We did the Segway tour in July. I was scared silly--sure I could never learn to ride that thing--but I did just fine and ended up loving the entire experience!

You can actually book Segway tours even further in advance. We booked ours in August for May 2006. They loaded ALL 2006 tours onto the computer in Ausgust.

I believe you can book tours up to a year in advance. We booked the segway and backstage magic tours for our Christmas week trip in April.

Ignorance is bliss? What is the segway tour? I hate to think I'm missing out on something. Also what do those other initials stand for MVMCP or something similar!!

Hi Lindylou,
The Segway tour is a chance to ride one of those standing scooter things, called a Segway, that you see management & vendors riding in Epcot. You are trained to ride for 1 hr., then taken out to tour around the World Showcase for another hour. It is an amazing experience! If you want to read more about it, here is a link to WDW tour descriptions with reviews. :sunny:

MVMCP is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. :flower:
