Segway sighting

I just saw my meter reader guy and guess what he is on???
A SEGWAY!!
Wonder if i asked nicely if he would let me play on it a minute

He has gone up one side and now is headed down the other side of the street on the segway. Wonder if i could get a job reading meters so i could play!!

Couldn't believe this so just had to share!

Now see this is one of those cases where I read your post and wondered where you live that the meter readers use Segways. BUT you are one of those people who see fit not to tell us your location.

I wish everyone would give their locations - at least the State.

Sorry Carl!! Didn't mean to not give my location.
I am in Peachtree City GA (aka the land of golf carts) I am in a planned community where we have hundreds of miles of golf cart paths, even one to our local walmart.
Our local Pep boys, according to my DH is selling segway like things with gyros in them instead of something else in them, sorry not mechanical here So it may of been one of them and not the segway itself. A cheaper version of the segway.
Either way they look the same and it was neat to see the little meter reader going around on it!

Very neat, DNSDisney. Meter reading sounds like a natural for Segway use. I think they will become more popular over time, sure seems like a great idea.

There is a kid in my town that rides his all over the place, I think he got it for graduation, maybe he going to use it on campus?

MY CFO of my company was riding one down the hallway the other day trying it out as we were getting a demonstration from the Segway people. He was headed for a George Bush moment on it for a minute and then corrected for it. We all cringed. It didn't help the Segways people's sales job on us all.

You mean there are companies making "knock offs" of the Segway? That is the first I had heard of that - but I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
