Segmenting at SSR -- Experiences?

Has anyone had any experience with segmenting a reservation for a dining plan when staying at SSR?

Unfortunately with free dining going on, I haven't been able to piece together the reservations I would have wanted, so I finally decided to segment my stay and add the dining plan to only certain nights.

In June at SSR we had to check out and check in at each segment. The Mousekeeping schedule was also screwed up.

I had a segmented reservation due to a waitlist - we didn't even have the DDP. And we had to check in and out 2x during our stay (in addition to arrival day). We stayed in the same room, but we had to go get new keys.
