Seen "Mr. Holland's Opus"? What's that song in UK?

They play it as backround music in the UK-it's the one where she "plays the sunset", the girl with the red hair in Mr. Holland's Opus. I love that song.

I just don't know. I looked at the songs on the Soundtrack and one of them is called "Visions of a Sunset" but I don't know if that's the right one. On the soundtrack it has vocals. I LOVE Rowena's theme from Mr. Holland. It is a BEAUTIFUL song!!

Are you talking about the one that is played with a saxaphone? I think I remember that part of the movie. Isn't that where she (the red-headed girl) keeps playing the wrong note at a certain part of the song but she eventually gets it right?
My DW loves that song! She makes me take her over to the UK pavilion all the time just so we can listen to that music. I just looked up the soundtrack for Mr Holland's Opus, but I didn't see that song anywhere. Does anyone know the "real" name of the song??
If I can find that song to download, my DW will be so surpised.

Oh thank you, TheRustyScupper, I love this song! I'm so glad I finally know the name of it. One on my favorite things to do is to get an order of fish and chips and find a bench in the courtyard and listen to this song. I won't let my DH leave until I hear the entire song. And if we happen to be walking through the UK, we have to stop and listen. Thanks again!!

While Kenny G may do a rather passable version of this tune, one will find that the composer of this 1961 hit is Acker Bilk, a British clarinettist. It was the first ever record to be a #1 hit simultaneously in England and the United States.
