Seems like H&V isn't that great - worth going for the characters?

I've read some pretty bad reviews of Hollywood and Vine on these boards, and I normally wouldn't have even thought of going until I heard about the PH characters being there.

I'm thinking of doing a late breakfast there - 11:00 or so b/c we'll be at MVMCP late the night before. Can you really mess up breakfast food? Is it worth going now that it's a character meal? I know my daughter would really like those characters, but I don't want a sucky meal (had that last Feb at Garden Grill - yuck!)

We had breakfast at H&V twice when it was a character meal before, and the buffet was wonderful. Lots of delicious breakfast choices, and the buffet was kept clean and well stocked. That was several years ago though, and H&V has not served breakfast since then, so it's hard to predict how the food will be. It's almost like a new restaurant opening at this point since they haven't been serving breakfast for so long.

I'm one of those exceptions who prefers H & V, even over CP at our last visit - !

Selections are varied, buffet is kept neat, as mentioned, and it was less busy and chaotic.

And now that there's a new character meal - I say - GO! My DS is STILL talking about the chocolate filled vanilla mousse cups!!
