We will be in WDW in Sept - my family of five (DS10, DS8, DD6) and my in laws. We will be on the dining plan. The kids and I will be there Sunday to Sunday so we will have 7 TS credits, and DH and his parents are arriving on Wednesday and they will have 4 TS credits each.

DH requested to eat at Brown Derby. After reviewing the menu I'm having a hard time spending 2 TS for it, especially for the kids and me. I'm thinking about paying OOP for me and the kids ($14 for my Cobb salad and $7 for each of their entrees) and having DH and his parents use the dining plan since they will be likely to order steak. The kids will be fine drinking water and missing a dessert. So for about $35 plus tax the kids and I can save 2 TS credits to use earlier in the trip before DS and in laws arrive.

Am I missing something? Does this make sense to do?

Then we have the wonderful problem of deciding where to use the 2TS credits - HDDR? CRT? LTT and another TS? Any suggestions?

I think it makes perfect sense. If you were going to use 2 TS credits go bigger- CRT or Narcoose's. :thumbsup2 Good plan!

LTT is only 1 credit. :) Also, let your server know ahead of time that not all in your party will be using your credits. We failed to mention it when we ate somewhere and it took a while for the check to be fixed since we did not let him know ahead of time. Oops. Our mistake but now we know. And yup, it does make sense.
