Seeking travel advice for Montreal

I hope this is OK to post on this board since it isn't Disney related but a poster on the community board suggested I try here. My daughter is traveling to Montreal for business and is looking for a few safe, interesting things to do. She has very limited travel experience and doesn't want to waste an opportunity to experience a new city. She is traveling alone and without a car so her options are limited. She is staying very close to the Notre Dame Basilica. Would also be interested in any dining recommendations.
