We have the new WDW vacation planning dvd - - and of course many of disney videos and memories from our first trip. But aside from pulling up the Universal website and pointing to rides, any tips on getting the kids (and I confess, me too) excited for our first visit there? We'll be staying 2 nights at the RPR.

Thanks for posting those great links. I'm ready to go!!! :goodvibes

The rides look amazing.

There's so much info on WDW, and so much less marketing of Universal. Will have to do more research! :surfweb:

Do you have the Universal video?:thumbsup2

Easy! Take them to the universal website and show them Spiderman and the Hulk!

Our kids were 7 and 9 the first time we went, and we've been back twice since then. My son, now 10, JUST made it onto The Hulk for the first time a month ago. It was the whole reason for going back to Orlando.

Thanks FayeW! Everyone I know that has boys LOVES Universal. I am a wee bit concerned that DD7 (not a daredevil like her older sis) will not be thrilled w/ Hulk & Spiderman. . . . but she does love Shrek! I need to research the rides!

You could have them read Dr. Seuss books. We went to the library and checked out every book that is part of a ride/character. It really helped us.

How do you get the Universal video? We're trying to get our kids psyched too! We did watch Cat in the Hat and Dr. Seuss on the Loose when they were on before Christmas. We saw a "behind the scenes" show about Uni/IOA a couple months ago, I believe on the Travel (possibly Discovery) channel that gave you a really good look at a few rides (I remember Spiderman, Hulk, Sinbad), but don't know how you'd know when this was on other than checking randomly.

We spent some time on the Universal Website watching the mini-clips of the rides which my kids loved. Also, keep reminding them of the Front of the Line benefit. This will make the days. We were able to go on Men in Black over and over again w/o waiting (for more the a few minutes)...just enough time for mom to recover.

Enjoy! We really loved Universal last year and are going again in March.

I'd like to know about ordering the video to if anyone knows!

You can check out fansites such as ioacentral.com and universalignited.com
Also, ioacentral.com has a podcast that you can listen to by clicking the link at the main page, or just go to it at myspace.com/ioacentralradio or
ioacentralradio.libsyn.com Its a really great podcast run by really great people and though they do talk a lot about Universal, they are not a disney cookie cutter podcast...they talk about a lot of things and sometimes have nothing at all to do with Universal. But its really great:rolleyes1
