Seeking NYC Advice

We are sailing out of NYC with Disney, and I'm looking for advice from New Yorkers, or those very familiar with NYC. We've been to NYC several times, but have never cruised out of NY.

We will be arriving in the area on a Friday, spending all day Saturday seeing the sights, and then sail out Sunday.

I don't WANT to pay $175 to park at the port, but will if it is the easiest thing to do, we'll do it.

We would prefer to spend Friday and Saturday night in, near, or around Times Square.

I have a ton of hotel rewards points to use, or we can pay cash. I'm just looking for the best option for easy access to all of the touristy 'stuff' - and somewhat close to the port for easy access on Sunday morning.

We are willing to stay outside the city if we can find a hotel with free parking during our cruise - so long as the cost of transportation into the city on Saturday and Sunday won't be cost prohibitive.

But than again, it would be nice to see the city on Friday night as well.

There are 4 of us total - all adults.

Any suggestions? We are looking for what is practical, but fun.

Willing to consider all options that do not include dragging our luggage by foot across the Brooklyn Bridge!

Here is a good website for top hotels at great prices. Today I got a price of $199 for a room near Central Park. Sales are only a couple of days long and only for about 2-3 months ahead. It won't help with the car situation though. Sniqueaway.com

I'm still new at posting, I don't know how to post a link, but there is a long thread on the Cruise Line board about planning for the NYC cruises. It includes lots of hotel & transportation tips. Have fun, I'm going on the Canadian one in July it's our first DCL cruise.
