Seeking DVC Member advice on combining reservations

Hi! I am considering combining a cash reservation and a points reservation for my upcoming trip in late September '07. I would like to remain in the same room without physically checking out. Is this possible? is it probable? What should I request on my reservation to increase my chances of a smooth transition?

Your expert advice is greatly appreciated! The reason that I am contemplating this scenario is that the 1st part of my stay is currently unavailable through DVC but is available through CRO. Thanks in advance for your guidance.

It is possible.

Let MS know of your CRO reservation so it can be noted and I would also ask CRO to note the DVC reservation. At check-in, you should again have them make note of your situation. The resort will certainly try to accommodate your request. You will still need to check-in a second time to get new keys, but they are likely to allow you to stay in the villa. MS will NOT guarantee this, but by proactively pushing the issue you have a good chance for success.

It is possible and probably for some situations, unlikely for others. Say you have a 2 BR at BWV on cash through CRO and points (preferred but not BW view) through DVC. If you make your wishes known and show up at the desk early repeating those wishes, you're chances are very high of staying in the same room. Same scenario but your points stay is a BW view 2 BR, your chances are almost zero of staying in the same unit.
