This afternoon I got a solicitation call from someone who wanted "to talk about my computer". I politely asked that my phone number be removed from his call list.
Five minutes later he called back!:headache: I pointed out that I had just requested that he remove my number and he said "no, I won't do that!". I said that I may have to file a report with the Do Not Call Registry, and he laughed and said "You do that--I'd love to see what happens!":headache:
Even though I had the company name (Trikon) and their number on my caller ID, I asked for his name and number. He refused to give me a name and gave me a totally different number than the caller ID showed. I hung up and filed a complaint with the National DNC registry, but I am still soooo steamed by his insolence and rudeness!
Just had to vent! Maybe I will go and have a big glass of wine to calm down....:woohoo:

that's nothing...be glad he didn't tell you to shup up b**** and what color panties are you wearing like the guy said to me two weeks ago!!

OMG!!:scared1:
It makes me wonder if our so-called protections from these calls does anything at all!
Usually if I politely request no more calls, the response is "of course. Sorry to bother you!"

Sorry that happened to you, but it reminded me of something funny my DD was telling me last night.. Some telemarketer (even though they are registered with the DNCR) kept calling the house and DD kept telling them to stop.. They absoluely would not stop calling.. So - when they called again, she had my DGD answer the phone - speaking in French, then switching to German, then back to French again - then back to German - and even though these people didn't have a clue what she was talking about, they still tried to give her their sales pitch.. DGD just kept it up - back and forth, back and forth, back and forth - till finally they got frustrated and hung up.. They didn't call again - but there's always tonight..LOL..:rotfl::rotfl:

Two weeks ago I got hung up on by a telemarketer. I was asking a few questions to figure out what exactly they were trying to sell. He answered and then said "nevermind, you don't sound interested" and hung up!! Poor man needs a new line of work!

I haven't found any companies that care if you report them :( or that will take your name off there list

How ironic, I just received a phone call an hour ago from my internet/phone service (Frontier) asking me if I wanted a second internet line to speed up my internet service. This was right after, mind you when I told her I was trying to get my bill down since I did not have a job and had no money coming in.

She proceeds to tell me it will only be an extra $14.99 a month for this service. I asked her if she would be paying the extra $14.99 for me, to which she just giggled and said no. I then told her well then it sounds like you are wasting your time and mine so lets end this conversation right now, shall we? Then I hung up. :headache:

Y'all are very polite to let them try. I just say "Not interested, thank you" and hang up. I don't give them a chance to say any more.
Also, depending on your service provider, I can go online and block any number. So if I find the same number is calling everyday, I put a call block on it then they can't get through.

I write the number down and fax 10 blank pages to them and put on auto redial. 1 less phone line to use. Or I tell them to hold and walk away or give the phone to my babbling baby.

I just say, I'm all set, thank you . And hang up. I'm not sure if they try to respond since ive already hung up. I've never wasted time trying to argue with them or fax them or whatever, since I've never had a problem. From some of the responses here, I guess I'm lucky!!!

I always have tried to just be polite. I figured they are working so why be mean to them. The one who told me to shup up changed me. I will just hang up now.
